I think it's going to require some kind of subscription. Things that require constant connection like cable boxes, cell phones, internet all require subcription, and Microsoft has been successful in charging for multiplayer.
Samsung uses cheap capacitors in they're tvs. Only the high end models have quality components.

Would the consoles need to run a 64bit os to support >4GB of ram? If so, than it might make it harder to develop for.(not sure but there aren't that many 64-bit programs that I can think of) since 64bit windows also runs 32bit windows, it's not a problem for pc. Or would it use something like PAE, which is has limitations.
I think Microsoft is more worried about iPad and Android than Valve is. They are eating away at ms market share since tablets and smartphone are basically mini pcs with operating systems. Windows is much more important to Microsoft than XBOX is. (I think they have like 1 or 2 percent of the smartphones, android has like 70% of the smartphones and iPhone 20% in 2012)Of course pcs will not go away and Microsoft still has plenty of tech patents but remember before windows pcs it was IBM PC and n...
MMOs should be able to be made on the ps4 and sony seems interested in getting them on the playstation. It could be an advantage for them since xbox seems to have problems with mmos (subscription fee?) Planetside2 is awesome and totally free to download and play!
Now that tablets, netbooks, and smartphones are considered pcs, Microsoft has less than 50% of the pc market. Which is why they rushed out windows 8 with arm support.
One thing about all the extra features is Microsoft doesn't provide some of them and is just a middle man. Of course, the middle man has to get his cut too, so these extra features could end up raising prices or bring in constant advertising.
Goes both ways. Stage88 just posted his opinion just like you did. Not saying I agree with him, just that he's also free to speak his mind too, even if it's in disagreement.
Are you sure windows will play all 360 games?
The list they released looks pretty weak.

The new CEO of SONY is the guy that came from Playstation though......
plus the head of xbox division has changed a few times this gen
I read somewhere that people in xbox marketing division all have PhDs in Psychology or something like experimental psychology
The guy said the hdmi could only output 4k in 30hz, so that's why they were only running 30fps. I think those gpu could get a few more fps.
I think the grenades(hand & m320) are under the Frag perk and rpgs are in the Explosives perk.
Yeah, I don't think EA was even the worst gaming company in America.
Looks great
Didn't the people complaining about mass effect raise money for some charity or something. I wouldn't call that a failure in the community of not corralling all of their complaints in a level-headed manner.
XBOX games are similar to pc because they use directx which is Microsoft's proprietary graphics api
Of course microsoft wants to get into the tablet business. Tablets have gotten popular and what do most tablets run? Android or Apple's OS. Windows is what made microsoft and if the average person just needs a tablet for surfing internet and email than ms wants them to be using windows
sata 3.0 will only make a difference if you're using a ssd. Harddrives can't even max out sata2. And i doubt the unreal engine is made for the gtx 690 because its a $1000 dual gpu that very few people will own. (Epic wants to licence out their engine)
The gforce titan (the fastest gpu in the world) only does 1.3 teraflops of double precision, do you really think the next xbox will have a faster gpu?
