2013 is tough for sequels.. There are just so many of them. Throw in new ips like ni no kuni and the tomb raider reboot and it gets harder. Bioshock Infinite and the last of us r coming and all the buzz is about next gen. Add to this formula a saturation of games in general and its tough to sell any game right now. Normally i would buy GoW at launch but i simply dont hav time and i chose tomb raider for my wait until bioshock. Great choicd too. Did i mention most gamers still hav tons of game...
I agree. I like playing both but it has to b done right. Lara Croft was bad ass and being a female does change the dynamic. I played a playthrough of akyrim as a female high elf and she was badass.
I cant wait for remember me. Game Imformer did an article on it and its memory gameplay looks really cool. Hopefully ppl learn about it.
I must say that i loved bioshock 2 also. They just about made everything better. And a return to rapture is so worth it. I will say that i wish they had left the big sister as a single end boss that u fight multiple timez but...
Anyway, this weeks wait is gonna b hard. Beat both ni no kuni and tomb raider so now i just wait and wait for Infinite and Game of Thrones.
I love my ps3 and it looked great on it but it would have been a bitch to build for ps3 and port the other way. Yeah, u dont get out of it what 1st party studios might but i am pleased. It looked and played flawlessly. I am actually sad I beat it.
Who cares? So many ppl today are journalists and get to play this game early. The embargo will be lifted ahead of the release so who cares? Most ppl already know that they eitber will or will not buy the game day 1. I am. I knew it last year. So, IGN wants to be the place ppl go to first...cool. Then, i may visit others when their review goes up. This isnt like simcity at all.
Bioshock is my most anticipated title...hands down. And also the Last of Us looks amazing. I must say though that i hope people notice remember me and give it a chance. It looks really good.
For half life, i really dont understand. I just dont. Yeah, valve isnt huge and may hav alot going on, but no only the orange box this gen? They pride themselves on games that last awhile and they do treat consumers wonderfully, so all i can think is that they know whenever they get to it, it will be big. The problem is that it gets harder and harder as new games releaseto recapture the magic. Maybe they just dont wanna do it unless its perfect.
I am sure it doesnt look worse than the first one. And i am sure it is on par with todays games and thats fine. Graphics are way down on the list of reasons that this is my most anticipated title. Reboot...lol. Try making this one scary like the first one. Love the no HUD etc. for immersion when u r playing a survival horror game. I hope they got the hint that they destroyed a marvelous IP...its sad too.
What i have gathered from all reviews so far is that its about an 8-8.5. It has better, quicker combat with better, less strategic and more reactionary combat situations b/c of the spawn system. It wasted a great opportunity to see into the origin of the locust horde and its frightening destruction of a homeworld and its people. Instead, it created a fractured story to suit replayability and modifiers.

Sony Santa Monica is really good. Though, because of the prequel nature, it wont go down like GoW2 did at the end of ps2. Also, i think the team was split working on a next gen title. They used this game to try a new element of multiplayer but it seems most are not huge fans. That being said, Sony will get their end of the gen bombshell in the Last of Us, and as far as I am concerned Ascension is a great game, as we got more GoW before the ps3 is replaced. Well, i think that unlike DmC, lara's reboot has been received very well. Its amazing but its holding its own against dead space, crysis, god of war, metal gear etc. They walked the line perfectly. Gamers love Lara Croft and CD did an amazing craeting a game with the freshness of a new IP, the quality of a Naughty Dog and the love and nostalgia of a classic. Now, it isnt without its flaws this late in the gen, and they will have their work cut out on a sequel without the origin story, but...
According to most DmC was a great game just not what ppl wanted. Its kinda funny how tomb raider rebooted with somethjng entirely different and has met critical acclaim and good sales. Maybe it is the franchise, the timing and the industry saturation. It doesnt help that the core base wrote it off before it even launched. I loved the makers of the game but i didnt buy it cuz i am not a huge DmC fan and didnt have time anyway.
If i ever find time, i want to play again with all different familiars. I used the best ones but when i was going for the capture trophy i noticed so many i would love to try out next time around.

While i agree with the review, and lately ign has been fairly slot on, i dont understand the 7.8 unless expectations were so high that even a solid game stood no chance. I look at numbers in comparison and i dont see this game as 2 points lower than GoW3. Its more GoW, and the quality alone deserves an 8. Improvements were made and yes there were expectations that werent met but the fact that we got more GoW before this gen ended...an 8.75.
Well glitches can ruin even the best experience. I think this game works very well because of the origin story. Everyone loves Lara and this is a great adventure from beginning to end. With that being said, i think the story hides some flaws. The leveling is quite shallow and the game can be beaten in hard fairly easily without using any upgrades. Its possible and would take the wind out of sonys sails. Especiallyif they announce next gen CoD and GTA5. But they will need some launch titles unless they release it to give ppl time to buy it. Honestly, what do u want from a strategy guide? It helped me finish single player with every sp trophy. Some things cant be shown without video but the guide was grdat for walkthrough and collectibles. I made sure i didnt miss trophies first. Then i would scour everywhere and use guide to find anything i couldnt find before moving on. Great game and the guide did exactly what i bought it for.
