Agreed. The list of exclusive games for 2014 that they showed includes Forza Horizons 2, Sunset Overhype, Fantasia, Dance Central, DLC for KI (yay?), DLC for Project Spark (which pissed off everyone who got excited at the possibility of a new Conker game!), Ori and the Blind Forest (indies are fine on Xbox, but don't dare mention them on PS4!), and...
cue heavenly beam of light and angels singing)
HALO! Not the new game, mind you, that won't be out ...
Like most new tech, Microsoft is content to let others take the risks...then when something actually is a hit, they will come to the market 3 years late and flog it like there is no tomorrow, desperately hoping people will buy it...see also "Windows Phone", "Surface", "Zune".
I'm sorry, who is this person, and why should we care that she isn't playing Destiny? I've never heard of her before...and if this is an example of her "insight" into the gaming industry...I really don't care to get to know about her!
Buying Morpheus day ONE! Can not WAIT for this to be released!
OK, Xbox fans. Enjoy your post-E3 announcement high while you can. Enjoy the nine (cough) "blockbusters" (cough). I am sure they are all GREAT games.
Soon enough though, you will realize that NONE of these games being released this year will change the trajectory of the Xbox One. Not ONE of them is going to influence a gamer who is still sitting on the fence to buy an Xbox instead of a PS4. NOT A SINGLE ONE.
Halo is great...but Halo fans have...
I am sure all of those downvotes have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the quality of the posts, and it's just "Sony Fanboys" raining on the Xbox fans parade, right? /s Get real.
So, all of the hopeful, wishful Xbox fans are saying here that Gamestop does not equal Amazon. True. Amazon sells an INCREDIBLE amount more than Gamestop. If it's not selling well on Amazon...news flash, folks...its not selling well ANYWHERE.
You can wait for "offical" numbers, but the FACT is that MS had a poor showing at E3, and Sony had a good one...and sales of Sony products are proving that. Don't like it? Too bad. You are entitled to your own O...
I heard from an "insider" that we will see both TLG AND Half Life 3 in 2015! Unfortunately...the insider was Thuway... :)
Yeah, I hope we are both wrong and they release a great game too! But I am waiting until after it's released and reviewed to make any kind of judgement.
Want to know why Sony "dominated"? Simple. BOTH MS and Sony showed great games...that is not in dispute. Which had the "better" games?
Depends on what you like...But Sony showed MULTIPLE multi-platform games that not only will look and play better on their console, but they also have exclusive content, ONLY available on the PS4 version! Batman, MGS V, Destiny...all of these will have straight up, non-timed, you will only play this stuff on Playstatio...
Sorry, but MS didn't "win", Sony did!
Microsoft focused on the only thing it could, games for the Xbox One. Great...but most of what they showed was multiplatform. NONE of the multiplatform games had content that was PERMANENTLY exclusive to their console.
Microsoft's "Big gun" was Halo 1-4. Nice games...great value for the money and I am sure it will look nice, especially compared to the originals. BUT...I would posit that any...
Sorry, with all of the trouble id Software has been having lately, I refuse to get caught up in ANY hype for Doom! If it's actually good when it launches, I will buy it, but I am not winding myself up only to be disappointed again!
Was anyone else stunned by the announcement that not only can you transfer your character and stats from the PS3 to the PS4, but also from the Xbox 360 to PS4? Wow. Bomb dropped!
A few more months of MS selling 5,000 consoles a week in all of Europe (excluding the UK) and we will see how dead it is!
Sony won, pure and simple. They announced a complete strategy to dominate console gaming with exclusive titles, exclusive DLC for key games like MGS V, Destiny, and Batman, and they announced NEW platforms like the Playstation TV and Playstation Now...not to mention "Morpheus", which just might be their ace in the hole in a year or two!
Halo fans are ALREADY Xbox One owners, for the most part. Or at the least, already committed to buying an Xbox One. Nothing that...
They won the media hype for the rest of the year, which in turn, influences gamers that DON'T watch E3 or care much about specific titles as to which platform they will buy into. And if you doubt me, just go read the E3 reports around the web. Then, watch as the rest of the year is filled with articles about how well the PS4 is doing and how poorly the Xbox is doing. More stories will appear questioning how long MS is going to lose money on it. More articles will come out criticizing ...
How is this even close? Sony won by a MILE! If you think otherwise, then you were not watching the same two presentations everyone else was!
So Microsoft focused on the games, right? Well MOST of the games they showed were not exclusive, and will play better on the PS4. The exclusives they were touting no one cares about. Sunset Overdrive? No one who doesn't read game blogs knows what that is or why they should care about it. Dance Central? Really? Fable? Only i...
There is really only one reason to own an XBox One. Because you want to play Xbox exclusive games like Halo and Gears. That's it! Every other major title will be available for the PS4, and look better and PLAY better on that console. Did you notice that over HALF of the games they showed today (that were releasing THIS year) were multiplatform? Forza, Halo remaster, Fable, Ori & the Blind Forest, Project Spark and Sunset Overdrive were the only exclusive titles announced, and out...
It's never leaving Beta...just like the Xbox One!
@Dewitt, again, go look at the Amazon rankings...Yes Halo 1-4 preorder is sitting pretty, but HARDWARE sales for the Xbox are FAR below the PS4. Again, the lineup for 2014 (not 2015, not 2016) is Forza Horizons 2, Sunset Overhype, Fantasia, Dance Central, Ori and the Blind Forest, DLC for Project Spark and Killer Instinct, and Halo 1-4. Do you think ANY of those games other than Halo are going to sell over 1 million copies? I sure don't. Do you think ANY of them are going to move hard...
