The X1 will be $299 standard this holiday. It was aleady lower than that with the game bundles and gift cards factored in. Don't be suprised if the price cut comes back in the Spring "sale"
For those saying it's not a real price cut... the console clearly sold well being cheaper. This could have already devalued the price in consumers' minds as the true worth of the console. They were 2 price cuts... even though temporary. In fact the cuts were deeper....
Rise of the TR? Square confirmed that this has a duration... AFTER MS said they are publishing it. They will not come out and state that if it was fully exclusive. Secondly, Square obviously can't talk about the how long this time exclusivity will last as part of the deal.
It will come to PC... and then PS4 eventually.
This shows Sony's dominance in the rest of the world, and why Europe is a very important market.
It is the main reason for the PS3 catching the 360. Although last gen NPDs showed MS leading in almost every month, Europe and Japan made up this gap and more. Even though the PS3 came a year later and at a much higher price.
MS does not have this dominance in the rest of the world, and this is why I believe the X1 will not catch the PS4. Plus the BIG AAA ...

So 10 clicks to find out the 10 things? The Industry won't learn from its mistakes... broken games on a short dev cycle, with rehashed titles each year... that covers it. Speak with your wallet and stop supporting these fanchises. Don't give them your money before the game releases (i.e. preordering).
@ Horndog... "go play Indies" ... Yet X1 owners mention cuphead, Ori and that Scream Ride game. You count Indies when it suits you, and that is when it's on X1.
Like? AC: Unity? Which has a marketing deal with MS? And deabtes around forced parity?

This old debate again. When Multiplats start performing better on the X1, without forced parity (which is debatable in AC:Unity) then you start intimating that its more powerful.
At the moment there are many promises in a "secret sause" type of way. For instance... The Cloud makes the X1 three times as powerful. DX12 and the windows update will bring more power to the X1. Removing Kinect will make the X1 10% more powerful.

Let's see if third party games can match or out perform the PS4 with these updates and boosts. The games will be the proof.

Dumping a large part of "essential hardware" to make the new standard SKU $100 cheaper is basically a price drop. Then lowering it by another $50 to make it $349 is the second. But this wasn't enough. It was $329 with a AC:Unity and a gift card, making it below $200. This is why it sold.

It's ridiculous how the titles in 2014 on PS4 are played down for Indie status but for MS they're not. MS has 2 big months out of 12 because of price cuts, bundles and marketing deals with COD and AC and suddenly it's leading or coming back. Yet the fact the PS4 still leads worldwide in each month is ignored.

What Sony is offering is fair and a good will gesture. They don't need to give it. No other company has ever offered anything for a DDOS attack.
Nothing can really be done to secrue aganist DDOS, except investing billions in server farms. Even this isn't DDOS proof.
People feel entitled or deserving more is just ridiculo...
So Sony should give away games because they were attacked... not hacked mind you, but DDOS attacked which can happen at anytime, without warning. Something that very little can be done in terms of preparation and defending aganist. Talk about being ignorant and entitled.

The games in that montage are a small snippet of what is coming in 2015 to PS4. What is exclusive to MS in the next 6 months? They will go for the big holiday push with marketing deals, content first and a lower price... and this will only serve them well in the UK an the US. The PS4 not only has more exclusives, but variety and world wide gamer appeal.

Tyical denial from the resident X1 fan wearing MS goggles. So Sony could not have sold 5 million worlwide between Sept and Dec, while bumping up shiptments worldwide? You do know that unlike the X1, the PS4 is a global brand, with everywhere (except the UK and US) outselling the X1 about 4:1?
