In this case, the past was better. Still a good game, but it's just not God of War. I haven't finished it yet, just got the compass, but so far it has really bad pacing. For every great moment, it hits a brick wall and tried to get emotional and deep.
I love you Cory, but you changed GoW in a direction that just isn't as fun for me. Still a solid game, but it's just not the same, and no, not for the better
Never loses its lustre? Besides when it does licensed games... or Star Fox Zero. Also couldn't handle developing Scalebound either
For God's sake no... we don't need all games turning into a 3rd person cinematic.
The game is very good, but it's not God of War. At least so far. Just got the compass.
Played for 2.5 hours last night on Give Me God of War and got passed the Mysterious Stranger. That difficulty ain't no joke I tell you what haha doesn't help I also put it on immersion mode so I can't even see my own health or anything.
Really impressed so far, but the combat is super repetitive and simple. I've unlocked a couple extra attack moves, but there needs to be more even at the beginning.
@eon
Oh wow that is awesome. Good on them for doing their due diligence on the spoiler front.
I didn't watch the video, but what do you mean things were held back?
What is this? A freakin written podcast?
Anyway, I as well want a GoW in Norse that retained the same gameplay, but you can't argue with the overwhelming success of the new style. Tomorrow at 9p.m. and I get to test for myself.
Certainly is gorgeous!
Tomorrow at 9p.m... that's all I gotta wait! So soon, so soooon.
There is info on game mechanics though... You have to read all the tombs laying around in the opening area. They give you all the button commands.
The rest is left to your intelligence of being able to read item descriptions.
@rainslacker
Yes i have played a QD game. The gameplay in minimal at best. Usually involves just walking around small environments.
I have said plenty of positive things about PS4 games. You guys just like to take notice tho when I'm critical.
Don't presume you know me.
Also it's not the coding for the tentacles that needs to be worked on, it's the body.
And I'll take your fanboy retort as admission that I'm right haha you just couldn't help yourself to try and crap on SoT.
But I'll answer your question with my previous statement.
"Why does it matter which game was harder to make?"
"Must be easy to get the...
Nah, everyone can come back if they try hard enough. Start doing more pro gamer things and fans will come back. EA has a bad habit of getting on a decent streak, then just hitting a brick wall of terrible ideas.
@aspiring
Creating code that tracks your actions depending on your choices isn't hard. Much easier than making a game where you have full control and interaction.
These games are all set on rails and just change the next scene depending on what you choose. Sure there is extra work making all the scenes, but not having to worry about full player control frees up a lot resources.
What do you think is harder to make? Witcher 3 or thi...
I have played heavy rain. It was good, but the rest of David Cage's work has been mediocre at best.
I have
Must be easy to get these visuals when you are basically just making a CGI movie with a couple button prompts.
I'm enjoying it, but not as much as the others.
