Well with the acquisitions of 5 studios, 3 of which weren't making Xbox games already, and also announcing that there is new hardware coming... I think its safe to say they won't be bowing out of the race like some people want to believe.
They own Turn 10 who makes the Forza Motorsports, but they didn't own Playground games who did the Forza Horizon games.
I'm also interested to see what that brand new studio The Initiate will be working on.
The Initiate is a brand new studio MS created. So 3 out of the 5 studios weren't making Xbox games before.
It was very smart of them to buy up Playground Games. They are a great dev and MS doesn't want what happened to Bioware happen to Playground Games. Remember Bioware was making exclusives for Xbox as well until EA bought them. Smart move swooping up Playground.
I mean, it's not exactly easy making a brand new engine from scratch, but I can't say I'm not a little bummed also.
I was at least expecting a Halo spin off game at least. Sort of what The Coalition is doing with Gears of War.
Ori 2, Crackdown 3, Battletoads, more Cuphead, Wow!
Well they hinted at Battletoads, and playgrounds new game, Ori is a phenomenal game even if it's not a big AAA game. But yeah I was hoping for at least a title screen tease for a couple new IP's from the studios they bought up. Even if it was a small tease like Battletoads or even a splash screen like Metroid 4 last E3. Ah well.
Can't wait to see what Ninja Theory will do with full funding.
Wasn't the base game a "Console Launch Exclusive" as well?
Gameplay for all of their announced titles is what I'm expecting, but honestly, that's probably enough for them.
@rainslacker
Didn't they say it's 100 minutes from their last run?
He is overrated anyway
While I respect them opening it to a free market and letting the consumer make a choice in their games, damn it's a rough time having to weed through 100 shit games just to find a decent one. Now it's going to be double that.
Well this got approved a little late lol
Their open world is shared. While the hub single player tailored directly to only your character and actions... as soon as you step out in the world it becomes shared. So either they'd have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting you each time you load in the hub or load in the world... or you just stay online which is easier and saves time.
Sea of Solitude looked interesting, Anthem looked amazing... But the rest was meh.
Looking forward to the new battlefront 2 content, but was a little disappointed they didn't have ANYTHING to show on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Yeah last year they showed like 40 games or something. With 15 I think we will be seeing more big games
Edit: actually it's just 15 world premieres, we'll be seeing a lot more than just 15 games
Hopefully with no PvP that means they puyba lot of focus on and content into the missions
@eonjay & Goldby
By solo I mean no one else in the hub area and characters and stuff will actually change based on the actions you make. They said they want the hub area to be like the Normandy. That's a bit different than the likes of the tower where literally nothing changes based on your actions and you have a bunch of dill weeds running around dancing and opening shit etc.
This seems a lot more personalized than Destiny with just a shared worl...
Kinda hard to do a shared world offline
@eonjay
Yes a third person shooter where you can fly and swap power suits and have a completely solo story progression within the hub is so much like Destiny...
Do you think it looks like Destiny just because it has a shared world where you can co-op?
Pretty sure Team Ninja did Ninja Gaiden.
