You can stay bitter and in the past or adapt. Buy the games that interest you or follow your ideals, no reason to act so depressed.
If GaaS is done right, I love the idea. I like to be able to come back to a game 3 months later and have new content to play.
Crackdown 3, Anthem and Metro will be day one. I'm gunna wait on a sale for Days Gone, I got my zombie fix already.
Do you mean monetize? Also there are examples of GaaS games that are going free content with additions of MT's. Even UBisoft is doing this with the Division 2, free content updates. It helps keep the fan base together and doesn't separate them between who bought the newest DLC pack and who didn't.
GaaS doesn't mean a digital only future. It just means there will be a greater focus on supporting a game far into the future with content updates. what it will mean is that there will be far less new games or new IP's since a dev teams don't have to worry so much about turnover to get their next game out quickly.

The cloud is still a part of the game. Its featured in its online modes.
David Jones didn't leave and go to Epic. Epic bought out Cloudgine which David Jones co-founded. With that said as far as I heard Cloudgine is pretty much done with Crackdown 3 on their side, and even being bought out by Epic doesn't negate the contract they had with MS.
Will you still be saying that when Forza Horizon 4 hits GamePass? How about Ori 2 or Gears 5? You still going to use that "GamePass is only for crap games" shtick?

It's funny though that I'm still playing Sea of Thieves with the new Content launch, but I haven't picked back up God of War since a couple weeks after it launched.

Hopefully they wait until we get high fidelity head sets that are cordless and won't break the bank... So maybe 3 or 4 more years.
I love my PSVR, but I feel like Sony rushed it out without thinking about its future. Hopefully next gen we get a PSVR 2 that will have analog joysticks on the wands, better image quality and hopefully better 1st party support.
Besides Ghost of Tsushima the rest was meh. We have seen Spidey gameplay already and it looks great. TLoU2 is just more of the same and Death Stranding trailer was absolutely terrible.
Nioh 2 was a cool new announcement though. I love Nioh

Anyway, I'm not saying you need to roll over, I'm saying just buy the games that interest you and conform to your ideals. There are plenty of great games that do no follow GaaS or MT's. But just know that GaaS and MT's aren't something that will be going away.
