They need to add Destiny.
I agree with some things. Bungie likes experimenting with players a lot specially with stealth changes and micro-ransacktions. Yes I spelled that right. They add little things and block other things. They paint themselves into walls and make players pay for that.
The game is actually quite good. The problem is really Bungie and its behavior-analysis-and-game-eco nomy manipulation. They toy a lot with player's feelings and then they backpedal.
Sometime it feels like you...
Of course Sony is not the sole offender, I do say that this particular case of Destiny (the 1-year-but-now-2-year exclusive part) is really off base. I'm talking that the industry in general should be persuaded to stop such deals.
The gaming industry is just starting to be really big, they rank in billions now, so there haven't being anything big to sue them for YET. But this industry is getting bigger every year, and with that comes more responsibility from their part. If we sit by and let them do with us whatever they want, they will, and they are right now.
I don't want to be right, but precedents such as these between Activision-Sony-Bungie are becoming harder and harder to ignore and tol...
Waiting for something to snowball is hardly ever a good idea. Wherever somebody's money is involved there's always class action material. You or I don't have to agree with this, it just is. You can stipulate whatever you want in a contract, but that is never ironclad if you feel your rights are being violated in any way.
If we're talking about "it's just games" sorry to break it to you, but "just games" is a billion dollar a year reve...
I wrote about this precisely because people I know asked me about it, and when I read the article above I decided to opine about it.
And don't worry, there are people that are doing something about it.
I did take a look, and just because all parties agreed to do something without any limit or repercussion whatsoever, doesn't mean that if any of the parties feels their rights are violated can't sue because they agreed to and/or signed any form of contract.
This is far from being frivolous and this was not my idea, but I do think that in this particular case companies taking those clauses to levels they shouldn't. No one has publicly called for a lawsuit YET. I don't ...
I insist: as a practicing lawyer, it's beyond me why anybody hasn't sued Activision and/or Bungie.
Destiny's case is so incredible (2 year exclusives for a multi-platform game?!?!?!) that it demands to be punished and prohibited from ever happening again. It's like there are no rules, and there are; but nobody wants to step up and make the offending companies comply.
As a lawyer this is easy class-action material.
I'm really shocked that no one has sued Activision or Bungie at this point.
Two year exclusives are absurd and need to be prohibited. Not only is bad business is a dangerous precedent.
It's literally the dark side of capitalism.
Exactly. "Only" 4 expansions so far (counting Rise of Iron), but there have been more than 40 (yes, forty) updates to the game (not only nerfs and balance to weapons, but also content additions (strikes, missions, gear), fixes, quality of life improvements (tons!), and yes events (SRL, Halloween and Valentine themed stuff). Also now Bungie includes a Recruitment forum which is exactly a LFG site which makes it easy to find fire teams for literally ANY raid or activity (even just for...
Well, compared to last year when they said NOTHING at all (the Festival of the Lost and SRL were complete surprises), this time already saying that we will have them back is more open to what they are accustomed.
Also, they also stated in a Bungie Weekly Update that a sequel to Destiny is in the works and has a 2017 release. The exact date is to be disclosed later and I'm pretty sure Bungie doesn't really know when it will be ready, yet.
They already said (in a Bungie Weekly Update no less) that Destiny 2 is coming on 2017; there's no firm date yet though, only the year; probably because they want to ensure this time the engine is flexible enough to provide for more frequent and substantial content drops and features (like Forge and Cinema Mode).
If half of what other previous articles say are true -regarding the incredibly-hard-to-use game engine- it is an engineering miracle they have added and changed so much...
They already said they are committed to the Destiny franchise for 10 years, this is the start of the 3rd year. Perhaps by the 8th or 9th year they will start to comment on future IPs.
I stupidly bought it because of my love for the originals and is EXACTLY what I got... the originals (without the dlc). This was a port, just a backwards compatible game with the starting Xbox 360 title ripped out.
I was an idiot for thinking that a company was going to deliver a remaster. I'm stupid yes, but that is not against the law. Taking advantage of stupid people on the other hand is illegal and immoral.
Be forewarned people, don't buy thi...
Ni No Kuni remaster is a no-brainer to me. The sequel was announced and NO mention of the original's remaster whatsoever. I never understood why.
The Xbox one version is just a backward compatible title with the Xbox 360 title ripped off and yes I own the original 360 version. The graphics and sound are the same. It's insulting to say the least. Not worth even 40 dollars.
I paid the price, I advise the rest not to follow in my footsteps.
Cash-ins like these by companies should not be tolerated and if I had enough money I would sue them.
Anyways, just warning you guys.
Nailed every gun in the "wish they never existed unless I owned them" list. Didn't get Suros until after the nerf, but every other one... Damn. They were MONSTERS!
Quoting Patches: "Necessary?! Is it necessary to drink my own urine? NO! But I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste."
Consoles are not 'necessary' for the human being to survive or exist (Man! We can have whole philosophical symposiums regarding just the definition of the word 'necessary').
The thing is, whether necessary or not, they exist, and they sell very well. And they are very well suited for many peo...
"Whether we like it or not..."
Moron.
People didn't like it, Microsoft -whether they liked it or not- backpedaled and the damage of the original decision hunts them to this very day.
Technology is a human creation. Progress requires humans. Everything involves something, you just can't say "whether we like it or not". If we like it, it will happen, if we don't, it will get stomped to the ground.
Man this game needs a sequel with better... everything.
