With 50% Boost in CPU power from the x1's hardware means it shouldn't have any issues reaching 1080p/60fps.
We'll have to see about that won't we MS.
EDIT:
I get the feelin MS has taken a difference direction this GEN...they know they won't beat Sony in the graphical department so they're going to focus on making more challenging games by boosting the x1's CPU power.
So true. MS better bring the ruckus at E3.
when are we going to see some proof.
SS is an awesome game. But I wouldn't give it a 9. after playing SS for hours I realized SS doesn't have much reply value. I would give it like an 8.6.
I don't think MS can double the x1s hardware, maybe like 15%. But not double.
MS has already increase the x1's cpu/gpu clock speed. Direct X 12 is going to push the x1's hardware even further. Major HEAT issues there.
To my conclusion, I think its already too late because the x1's motherboard/hardware/heat sink design are design minimize the heating issue to a point.
If MS does decide to make a demo to show off what direct x 12 can do..I would also like them to provide us a benchmark test too to see if the x1's hardwar...
Mario character model was spot on. Liked the vid.
LOL. This secret sauce stuff is getting old. Its kind of funny how technical MS can get when it come to harnessing the power of the x1's hardware.
Why can't they just show us a demo instead.
Secret sauce take 3.
Ipv6 internet protocols means you can generate more ips addresses than Ipv4. Of course IPS have to upgrade each year to meet demands.
But I wasn't talking about numbers as far as how many IP address can be generated form thier server. Even with the amount of Ips address a single ISP(comcast) has at their disposal, it still not enough to supply all of their subscriber at the same time. The reason this happened is because at the time the internet was a failure back in the 8...
Nintendo lost focus when they got in to this whole motion control gaming.
Oddworld looks fantastic. I'd like to see more game play footage.
Thats good news. ISP's systems aren't design to run streaming services/clould/etc.
The proof is in your ip address. Comcast uses dynamic IP address for a system that is only designed to services half of their subscribers. Its work for them because they know everyone aren't going to be online at the same time. It saves them a lot of money and bandwidth power.
ISP have to pay for each IP address. Its the reason they recycle your ip address over and ...
The problem is we need more data about the PS4 specification.
Adding an SSD hard drive to solve the I/O issue still might not work. For all we know it can be the fault of the mother broad. the huge amount of data that's transferred between the CPU vs HDD might be too much to keep up with everything else in the game.
The fact that sucker punch used this method tell me they wanted to push the I/O speed beyond PS4's specification.
EDIT: ...
There you go.
@mr-phillips
@jhoward585 look at the slide labelled "hundreds of jobs" it states particle collisions has a page size of 100+ along with the command buffer
-----------------
Key word "collisions" thats handled by the CPU.
Now Geometry does help with the effects/lighting to function.
speed was the main factor here not the overall all memory. That why they loaded a small memory portion to the PS4's ram to speed things up a bit. it couldn't be accomplished had they loaded that portion of memory to the hard drive.
@mr-phillips
I don't think they did this for particle effect because there were no mention about the GPU. The fact that they said CPU probably means they were trying to get good geometry/collision with any hiccups.
Yes, normally some of the memory are allocated to the HD for I/O purposes/virtual memory. But in the SS case, a bit more memory were needed to be allocated to the RAM because the data bus between the CPU vs HD just wouldn't work.
Thanks god the ps4's RAM was fast. This couldn't be accomplish with the x1's RAM because its too slow compared to sony's RAM.
Putting that small portion of memory on the HD instead of the RAM wouldve slow things ...
So that's means Second Son couldn't run on the x1.
Son'y RAM helped solve some I/O(CPU vs HD) issues when they used some portion of the ps4's RAM for virtual memory. Thats cool!
Iwata need to go.
This is a waste of time. Just put Shenmue on kick starter and see how it tuns out. For years die hard Shenmue fans have been waiting/hoping for Sega to make the next Shenmue game. Beside Shenmue is not just a game, its a story that need to be told.
