Nintendo will almost certainly keep the gamepad premise for their next console. Nintendo's been fond of dual screen gaming for over 30 years (think about it- Game N watch, GameCube/GBA connectivity, DS, 3DS, and now Wii U). But you say that like it's a bad thing- More is better, and two screens is always better than one (especially for some of the more demanding games). But likewise, Nintendo is also very fond of multiple controller options and allowing people to play how they prefer....
Has nothing to do with power, and "weak" is relative. PS4 and Xbox One are "weak". All the consoles are weak. Gaming consoles aren't state of the art, they're budget tech aimed at lower middle class citizens who can afford a couple hundred bucks once every 5-10 years.
