Got mine on the MS store - was slow but managed to get over the line. Fair play that pre-orders started at 8 on the dot.
Also had Amazon open but kept saying 'problem adding to basket'.
This and EA Play is a real statement of intent for Xbox. Wouldn't be surprised if the price of game pass goes up soon.
To be fair, they bought up other studios recently that still had existing publishing deals for games (Outer Worlds, Psychonauts 2) so will probably be the same for these games too.
They bought Mojang and announced they were continuing to develop on all platforms - https://www.theguardian.com...
So yeah, do your research before you comment.
Does Sony have the balance sheet to buy a publisher? (I honestly don't know).
7.5 billion is a hell of a lot. I think they will probably go for more shrewd studio purchase, like they did with Insomniac.
If they were, I think he would said this in his statement. PC and Xbox only by the sounds of it.
Like it or not, it's business. It's been said time and time again on this website that exclusive are what defines a console - well Microsoft has massively bolstered their portfolio today.
Huge news, the day before Xbox on pre order too. Microsoft clearly want their console to be the place to play RPGs and FPSs.
They absolutely smashed it with the hardware and controller, regardless Microsoft’s shambolic Xbox One launch.
I’m not a fan of their current CEO though, clearly a businessman and not a gamer. Not sure he’s the right person to lead them into a new gen.
You’re right, it’s absolutely pro consumer and illogical to argue otherwise. But it also goes against Sony’s previous narrative of believing in next gen exclusives, which in turn led to people criticising Microsoft for ‘holding the generation back’.
So although they went about it the wrong way, they ultimately arrived at the right decision. Great news for PS4 owners.
Wow, can’t believe how insecure some of these replies are. As others have said, game on whatever works for you. I’ve had a PS4 since launch because that was the more attractive console at the time for me (and many others to be fair). Just because I’m seeing the value in something else now, suddenly I’m fake and a hater? Have a word with yourselves.
I'm not sure that's the final lineup - The Medium for example has a Q4 2020 release date so could easily make launch.
Ok mate, I’ll send you my series x pre order receipt on Tuesday ;-)
I seem to remember getting a similar email when I pre-ordered my PS4 on Amazon, and it arrived on launch day. Wouldn't be overly worried.
If I may, the only PS4 exclusives I bought this gen were Uncharted and Last of Us. I remember being super excited when Spidermen got announced, but by the time it released my interest had kind of gone.
I dunno, peoples tastes change, and as good as I'm sure the PS5 will be, it largely seems to be offering more of what the PS4 does. Not that there's anything wrong it with, but I feel that some people just want something different.
Cheers man! Just like I hope everyone who gets a PS5 enjoys theirs.
I’ve had a PS4 this gen and I’m switching to Xbox. Nothing wrong with the PS5, just think Xbox will be a better investment in the long run with their investment in 1st party studios and game pass.
Exactly, why would anyone say anything different?
Plus anyone saying "all Xbox games are on PC" because clearly everyone in the world owns a PC capable of playing at the fidelity an Xbox would.
Probably should’ve been more specific but financially, would you rather pay £10 a month subscription or £70 per game? Not everyone has that level of disposable income.
Hope this is a mistake, completely unnecessary for a purchase of this price.
