lol you didn't read the article at all, did you? On top of that, a pretty stupid comment to make about what the fucking console looks like. Cuz girls are all about image, right? If it's in an ugly box, it doesn't matter what kind of awesome it has in it, does it, ladies? /s
I think the complaining is kinda stupid. I mean at least be glad that out of a male Shepard and female Shepard to use for the promotional images, they use the female Shepard.
I 100% agree about the battery packs with the 360 controllers and the HDMI/component cables with any console. The wireless adapter with the 360's price point was kind of a bummer, too. Still pretty steep for a white G adapter too, unless you're doing some sleuthing.
I wouldn't call it racist, but definitely ignorant and culturally insensitive.
When people stop paying attention to how much stuff like that costs, it's when companies can really start ripping you off. And when they do, they don't just rip off the rich, they rip off the poor too.
It is nice that you still get an allowance. You don't pay attention to how much groceries cost because you
a) still live at home
b) someone provides them for you free of charge.
Crotch chopping? People still do that? ...Wow.
But I completely agree about the whole e-sports cyber-athletics thing. It's an oxymoron. You might work hard to train your reflexes to get that headshot, but try working out, breaking a sweat 7 days a week to...y'know...actually accomplish something other than wearing in your chair?
@ Gamer 10102
Because if it was indeed written by a woman, she seems very disconnected from her work. This is pretty bad, especially if she is bashing the study from the point of a female gamer.
But most of all it's because these kinds of stories are so stale. They're bait used to lure in socially-deficient men to leave sexist remarks that are about as old as the topic itself. Everyone knows that gaming, much like hunting or admiring old sports car...
You can use "an" in front of a word that starts with a consonant if that consonant is silent or not vocalized. Example: an historic event. Since the H is vocalized in the word "helicopter" in most dialects, generally the n is dropped. Since this seems like an English article (euros) odds are that where they're from, it's normal. So yeah, they're serious.
But seriously, I like collector's editions with cool stuff, but sometimes you have ...
Then that makes it even worse, not better.
This article and the study that's behind it is kind of ridiculous...It's almost as if the author has never met a woman.
You'll probably find that a lot of women do play games online, but they don't openly state that they're women in their user-names or profiles so they won't be harassed by young boys. Not every lady names themselves...
crazi_parti_cutsie_babe_teehe e...
Or whatever lol
Huh, just like the boys.
It all depends, are the people that are complaining just yipping, or are they throwing a full out child-in-supermarket tantrum?
The TPA (there's something similar in the US I'm sure...) states that you can ask someone to leave for whatever reason, if they refuse to leave then security can escort them out, or they can have a police escort out. But I doubt that a company like Capcom would just kick people out for mere whispers of a canned game project.
@ Zetta
Get over it. These people hacked numerous websites and deserve to be punished just like anyone else would.
There was a snippet of the article that stated that 50% of the people that downloaded the free content wouldn't have downloaded it. Well what if they already had it? What if it was just something they weren't interested in?
Television writers do 'know better.' But the average viewer does not (especially CBS viewers *groan*). That's why you get NCIS talking about (paraphrasing here) the high score in all the online massively multiplayer games or showing "air gaming" where gamers not currently holding a controller mimic actually playing. Cuz that's what we all do, right?
Writers can't write accurately because they don't want their writing to make the average vi...
@ Logic Wins - All of those are from cable, this is article is concerned primarily with network television.
Also...a big factor in thinking all of those shows are awesome - nostalgia. You were a kid and thought it was awesome, that doesn't necessarily make it better than anything that is on television now.
I didn't play GTAIV for very long because of the ridiculous phone calls and the ridiculous characters, and the fact that it took itself a little too seriously.
SR never takes itself seriously.
But I think the perfect blend here was SRII - it was serious enough to not require you to be batshit insane all the time, but allowed you to do as you pleased. If you wanted to bash grandpa's face in with a dildo, you could.
This is what freedo...
The review was basically "Challenging puzzles...want to learn more about the plot."
I can't imagine that this game would have received the same score had the review been written by a woman...There's no sex in the game I'm sure, but perhaps we're giving bonus points for cleavage shots? Maybe?
The author didn't quite explain how this other woman was being snippy. I work in a place where everyone is "hon" and yeah, it gets annoying, but nothing to write home about.
This is why I don't use a mic online unless I'm with friends. Does it suck that I can't express myself like everyone else can for fear of reprisal? Sure, but it's better than hit on or harassed.
