infact, it actually looks like blu-ray dvd's are cheaper than most hd-dvd's because most hd-dvd's are 24.99, with a few at 19.99

for proof, go to amazon.com and look for Blu-ray under dvd's. all but three were 19.99-20.99. Underworld Evolution, Ultraviolet, and Crash were $27.99

no doubt this game looks nice, but i don't think it is the best looking game to date. and as for saying that it is especially for the Wii and the PS3, well since those systems aren't out so there is nothing to compare...... quit blowing hot air. I've already dropped close to $5000 just to watch movies (running a full home theater) and can not wait for blu-ray. The only major studio that isn't producing blu-ray and only hd-dvd is universal (and well, the new weinstein company) but every other studio is doing either both or soley blu-ray. No this is not for every consumer as soon as it hits the market, but then again, neither was dvd until it's third year of run
jkbonafide, i have to agree with you 100 percent. it gets me how so many people are already bashing or praising a console that none of them have seen. It might be better than the 360, it might be worse, there might be no noticalbe differance between the two, who knows until it gets here.

I can't remember where i read it, but i remeber reading something about 6 months ago in a press release or something from apple, that this was a problem they were having with their whole use of front row on hdtv's and that is why they said that they went with DVI and were looking at eventually going with HDMI options on the new macmini's becasue it allowed communication between the hdtv and the computer so that it was automatically able to adjust the outgoing signal accordingly to overcome HD...
to say that blu-ray is going to die is redicoulous. lets compare them to the other sony failures, betamax - purly a movie format. mini-disc, couldn't compete with the cheap costs of multilayer cd's, because they didn't offer any more storage space, UMD - not used for storage.
However, blu-ray will stay around atleast as a storage medium because of size.

not probable, but it is possible. it might be possible to send the created video data to the PS3 processor at that point and then use a similar upconversion algorithm like those used in upcon dvd players to get a hd image, it is just the expensive way of doing it, but still possible to get the hd image, but you might have some stretching of games that are not already widescreen compatible (but most ps2 games that have come out within the last 2 years are). so i am not sure about the strechi...

to clerify, my previous post, i do not think all 360 fans are dumb (i actaully don't like the 360, but was a big xbox fan) i just think that most who have nothing better to than bash PS3 and nothing relevent to add in a post, like the one i was refering to, really need to get an analcranialectamy (note. that is surgically removing one's head from their @ss)
