well i am worried about how good the new games will look aswell. and i was right there along with you on the Atari 2600, and even the Com64.
i'm no young pup.
but i still have a nes and an snes in my bed room, along with a sega (with the sega cd and the 32x) cause i play the old games still. that is why i like the BC capabilities, and i'm perfectly happy with what sony has done with the PS3
So when did EA become an authority involving shipment quantities of Hardware devices?
I would take some dockworkers word over that of EA in this case. I could be proved wrong. But i just don't see how they would know.
especially without any other game publisher coming out and saying it. now if all of them were saying it, or at least more than one, then i could think that they received a memo or something from sony that said the numbers would be lower.
I'm actually going to give mine to my youngest brother cause he just turned 13 and is starting to get bored with his GameCube games. so i'll give him the games that i don't want anymore (which is alot) and keep the ones that i still play. so some backwards compatibility is good in my opinion, cause i still play some of my old playstation games form time to time. Especially the original Soul Reaver (I love that game)
How about we wait until the US release before we start comparing it to the 360 numbers
No, they should not of had a dvd version. Blu-ray will be used for games aswell as movies. which means if they released a dvd only version, then you would not be able to play every game on it. then everyone would be complaining that there is no point in the dvd version because you can't play all the games
come on, sony is damned if they do, and damned if they don't
i will agree with the whole media center, and the PC concepts they have thrown at us, and i will...
Actually i forgot FF tactics as well. and i'm sure there is another FF title i am forgetting as well
which GT and which Final Fantasy?
are we talking GT1? GT2? or GT3? or even GT4?
are we talking FF7? FF8? FF9? FF10? ff10-2? or perhaps even the FF Anthology or FF chronicals, or FF Origins?
i'm sorry BBC you can't say the names of game franchises and not the specific game names, cause i doubt there is a possible problem with every game in the franchise
sorry, that was meant as a reply to #1 but for some reason it didn't put it there
Now i thought that the Wii had a DVD drive, it just didn't support DVD movie playback. and that was the issue.
and from what it sounds like, that is what this article is saying, because the article says "Though it is a software issue, Ninty claims that it 'requires more than a firmware upgrade.'"
so to me this says that it already has the dvd drive. so this tells me that games will come on dvd cause that is what was already planned, it jsut didn't sup...
Oblivion is a good example of a game that is going to be using the space of Blu-Ray
Got to love the guys who vote lame, just because this is a PS3 article.
This is cool news for all people, because it helps to establish HDMI as the sole formate for HD signal transmission. if the mini-HDMI starts to come standard are camcorders and such, then we are talking about the lose of bulky cables, and a set standard so that the need for 5 different special adapters are not needed. to me this is great news for all tech junkies and gamers
what would be awesome in Madden would be the ability to pull back snaps the ball, but if you hold R2 (or some button) and pull, it is a fake snap, that way if you are playing someone in the same room, they might react to your movement and be more likely to jump offsides. i think that would be cool for when i throw my madden parties
"Main reason why we have HD-DVD PCs and laptops out now and no Blu-ray drives in PCs or laptops."
Then why do i have a Sony BWU100A in my PC right now, and i have no problems playing Blu-ray movies, and I save them on my Home Server????
please know what you are talking about instead of trying to pass your opinion and lack of knowledge off as fact.
And just to point out, i actually do like HD-DVD better than Blu-Ray right now because of the codecs use...
might be stupid right now, but sony announced not to long ago that their newer tv's are also going to ship with bluetooth remotes. however they still will be able to support infrared, so perhaps the ps3 will be like this aswell, so you can still use your universal remote, just the standard one will be bluetooth. atleast that is what i would do to make the transition easier
a great idea by MS, cause now you will have to buy their special HDMI cable for your 360, unlike PS3 which will allow you to use any hdmi cable. very smart marketing decision to line your pockets and not your competitor's.
I do kinda of have to agree on the price of the Wii. for what you get, and for what hardware is there, it is overpriced in my opinion by about $50-75.
with 360 proving it's sucess, i believe that is is now MS's current system, it is no longer next-gen. if the wii and ps3 have a good launch and are still sucessful a year later, i believe that they will then be considered a current gen console. MS has now put xbox on the backburner and are working on the advancement of their current gen console, making the xbox now a console of the previous generation.
I think next-gen is something that people have consistantly misused, especiall...

here ya go, hdmi cables for less than $10, and they work great, it is what i use
you are so right, cause the $1.78 for a BD is so much more than the $.94 for a dvd, and i'm so glad that MS didn't go with the $1.73 for an HD-DVD disc
production costs of the dics are not this issue, if anything it is the fact that the amount of space can be so much, so the companies are putting more into production so that they can produce more, but they don't have to, they choose to
first of all, mini USB is standard for peripheral USB devices, at least it is considered standard by the UBS specifications.
second of all, if you are playing $15 for a usb cable, you are getting ripped off.
you can buy them on amazon for $2.20 a piece.
so yes, they are a standard USB cable, because they are standard for what type of device it is. and if you are still buying your cables from wal-Mart, Target or Best Buy, that is your own problem
