By far and wide. Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy Tactics destroy all other RPG's. You want difficulty? FFIV. You want plot twists and depth? FFTactics. For their time, the gameplay was superb. I have yet to play an RPG with better stories and characters than FFIV and FFTactics.
Another great series is the Suikoden series. Mass Effect is crap compared to these RPG's. Mass Effect is just a wannabe RPG in my opinion.
It's basically Star Wars with a greater emphasis o...
Don't let it be Suikoden VI. The 360 CANNOT get Suikoden VI as an exclusive...
I don't know if this is right or not but, why don't they work on localizing the game while the game is being made. I mean like a pre-localization. Obviously there is a game script with all the words and everything, so why not start translations during the development?
Maybe they do and it takes longer than I realize, maybe they don't. I really don't know.
When the Crystal Tools was the White Engine, it was being used for the PS3. FFXIII was using that engine to be optimized FOR the PS3. Now, all of a sudden, the engines are being worked on simultaneously? WTF HAVE SE BEEN DOING ALL THIS TIME?!!!
Expect the PS3 version to be severely gimped now. *Sigh* Why couldn't they just optimize for both systems, let both versions be excellent instead of "equal"?
Can someone please explain to me how Kojima is apparently a douche bag? I'm basing this on the comments here. The guy rarely speaks, and when he does he's certainly not arrogant. Every time you see an interview with him you always see the word "humble" being used by the journalist writing out the article. So yeah, someone please tell me WTF is up with that?
*Iwata admits Wii is gay, admits the Wii is "out of the closet".. no one surprised*. LOL.
It's not the most original game, but it's perfect if you're just looking for mindless button mashing to unload stress. Try playing the game on Chaos WITHOUT maxing out your character.
I do agree a lot changes should be made. One, how about allowing for ACTUAL versus matches, instead of just challenge versus matches.
Two. Online. I can't stress that enough. Create an online campaign. It has MASSIVE potential. You can create your own Kingdom and try to occupy China whi...
How SE were arrogant enough to believe that their games make or break consoles and give them overwhelming success, and how they said they don't want the PS3 to be the overwhelming loser, but they don't want it to be the overwhelming winner either?
Now that you remember that, count how many PS3 games SE has released so far.
Seems like every week SE announce another game for the 360, another game that eventually bombs in every conceivable way, and then they announce AN...
He did say he wants to try something on the Wii. I just hope it's not this.
ummm maybe you should...
Or maybe this...
Please tell me you're not one of those "they make more money by making the game mutliplatform" people because the sales (or lack thereof) of SE's mediocre outings with the 360 would win that argument.
notice they emphasized casuals? I really hope they aren't considering the Wii for this game. It really wouldn't work.
But it was always really hard to get games or imported stuff like FFX International.
I can understand why people would want to though. I bought SFIV from EB Games and it set me back nearly $80. Games haven't been that expensive since the SNES days. With the way the economy is, people have few options available to them. They either need good jobs, quit their hobby, or pirate.
Still no PSN cards in Canada. That's a failure. I'd get a lot more use out of Home if I could actually BUY something.
It's clear you have a small grasp of basic math. Assume Sony builds the PS3 at a cost of $500 and they sell it at $400. For every one PS3 bought, they are LOSING $100, not GAINING anything. So assume they lower the price because you and everybody start whining about it still being expensive. They lower it to $300. Now they're losing $200 per console. Unless the percentage you talk about that they make off of games equals or surpasses the percentage they LOSE off of consoles, they'll NEVER mak...
holdmedownma2008: thank you. I respect your reply.
Th3 Chr0nic: I wouldn't take the word of any gamestop employee with even the smallest grain of salt. Many companies have many different reasons for wanting the PS3 to get a price cut. For gamestop, who makes profits on USED goods, they want it so that they don't have to pay as much to buy the console off of Sony, thereby making more profit after trade ins and re-sales. But, that's just my opinion.
Ldubbz: Time defeat...
First of all, NPD sales reflect only 1/3 the gaming world, so they aren't the end all/be all of anything. Second, SONY WANTS TO MAKE MONEY!!! Do you not get that concept? How can Sony make money if they reduce the price of the PS3? Since all of you are marketing geniuses, explain this to me. If they are ALREADY taking a loss on EVERY PS3 sold, and if their main goal (as they have stated) is to MAKE profit, how does reducing the retail cost of a console in which they are already losing money (...
..is that The Last Remnant says Hi.
Did you just say that Final Fantasy is NOT an RPG?
You have to be kidding right? You understand don't you that the definition of RPG's WASN'T defined by Mass Effect right? It was defined by board games like DnD, then by games like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. Mass Effect comes around, uses loosely based RPG elements, and it pretends to be one. One can argue what an RPG is, however when you get down to basics, every game would essentially be an RPG. Since, as a definition, RPG ...
