Rumour: Is mweb.co.za looking for hits by spreading a rumour that is so tenuous it practically stretches the fabric of time and space so thin you can see through to a parallel dimension where video game websites actually report news.
Bottom half of the list if we're lucky. Bottom quarter most likely.
But I hope SquareEnix prove me wrong.
@johndoe
I don't agree.
When The Order was first announced the media went crazy for it. There was huge excitement and anticipation. After E3 there was a lot of hype and positive articles written.
I do agree that there were generally more articles written about this game than normal during development - but I don't think it was any sort of conspiracy, I think it was an accumulation of factors...
The hands on demo was...
Regardless of whether he is right or not, he should take it on the chin.
This just makes him look defensive and that he doesn't respect other people's opinion.
He and the team should just go back and prove the doubters wrong with the next game. His current attitude makes me concerned that he is so blinkered that the faults The Order had won't get addressed in the sequel (if there is one)
I really hope that there's an easy way to opt out of the Matchmaking for Heroic Strikes.
One of the things I like doing is trying to solo these.
You said it ChronoJoe.
You know something is wrong with the current review scoring model when people think a game below an 8 is bad and there's arguments on why a game scored 9.5 instead of 10!
I've always liked the idea that 5 is an average game, 7 is a good game, 8 is a great game, 9 is for a game that does something exceptional in the genre, and 10 is for a game that does something exceptional that could impact the entire industry or every genre.
LoK is an IP that definitely needs to make a comeback.
Interesting story and awesome game play... What a great series.
I really like Metro for gaming info and reviews - but that interview was terrible.
75% was the interviewer venting... The PR guy even said at one point something along the lines of 'This seems like therapy for you'.
On topic: I finally caved in and bought the PS+ Upgrade version of DriveClub a month or so ago. It was about £15.00 and well worth it. It would have been nice if the PS+ version had come out first so I could test the waters - but u...
Yeah, Mario Kart 8 and Bayonetta 2 were what finally convinced me to get a WiiU. But I have gone back and found a few gems in the catalogue.
I kinda wish I had waited to get a PS4 / XB1 - both have been a bit lacklustre in Year 1 - so hopefully they also have a good Year 2.
I don't think anyone wanted the game to fail, especially from the media.
The negativity started when RAD showed a demo to the press and it failed to impress! Simple as that!
I do think there was a higher number of articles written about this game than normal - but I think that really boils down to the lack of other AAA titles that were on such public display.
What else have the press really had to talk about for the last few months! Gott...
I am definitely using my WiiU more than XB1 and PS4 at the moment - but it did have a significant head start, so would expect more games.
Along with Uncharted 4, Zelda and Xenoblade are my most anticipated games right now.
FANTASTIC! Now we're getting back story from the devs!
Why bother putting out the game - they may as well have just released a book full of all these interesting snippets of info and a compilation of the Grimoire cards.
Oooh! Phobos is close to Mars for 'reasons'... Great! Bungie has a whole back story and universe mapped out... Why not try telling us the bare bones of the story before padding it out with this type of stuff!
Again!? How many times is this :)
Soooo, how is that nay different from what they've been focusing on so far...?
Sooo, a guy really liked the game, wrote a lot of articles, then scored it high...
I don't see the problem. I'd have been far more concerned if the guy wrote a shit tonne of positive articles then blasted the game in the review.
It's the same as journalists / sites that played the preview, said it seemed linear and boring, and then gave it a low score. If they dished out a high score I'd have been interested in knowing the reasons for changi...
Or wait for it to pop up on PS+ and get the best of all worlds.
Why should he be constructive?
Is he paid to give the devs feedback on what they could have done better - or inform the masses of his opinion on the game.
He really didn't like it and didn't sugar coat his opinion.
You could just as easily argue that the reviews that have given it a high 8 or even a 9 are too positive and gloss over any problems or flaws!
Metro is one of the few publications / sites I think review fairly and without bias - but that review is a helluva stinger!
I wonder what Edge will give it!
Whenever Nvidia release a new driver and it states Game X could see improvements of Y% on certain GPU's... I just assume that the 'certain GPU's' are not referring to mine, as I never see any improvements!
:)
My concern with Star Citizen (which I have backed) is that it seems clearly Pay to Win to a certain extent, with the additional ships they've been selling. So some people will get a huge jump start.
Also, I assume there will be a beta access, and if it follows Elite Dangerous, they won't do a final wipe before launch.
