I gotta agree with you two. Poly counts are what really need improvement. Better lighting on all levels makes a bigger difference. Naturally with each generation poly counts will increase so we need not worry anyway while incorporating other effects to mimic real life are more essential.
@ The_Ultimate_Guy - Your argument is flawed. While demand can be somewhat estimated by sales, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's what consumers thought was most worth their money and chose that over other titles. I've talked to too many people who don't follow video games closely (most people don't spend time on video game sites) and know nothing except franchises like COD and Halo so their ignorance buys those games; Not the quality of those titles. It's not that ...
@ Colonel: I gotta agree with everything you said. I was disappointed with the story of KZ3 and the way it was told. They could have made it much more interesting. I really enjoyed the stories in KZ and KZ2 (with the exception of Rico's mouth) but KZ3 really just was not engaging. I didn't like the conflict of power in the Helghast ranks and I thought Narville suddenly became an absolute idiot and his and Rico's arguing just became a nuisance. How the two couldn't work togethe...
Thank you for that comment Seanscythe. The things people say now is just amazing. Wake up peeps.
On-topic: I didn't really see any huge difference on either console between Battlefield BC 1 or 2 so I really don't think there will be any significant difference with Battlefield 3.
Rainstorm81 is right on the money. I've come to the conclusion PC fanboys are the worst. If you even say a console game looks good they are quick to come in and say "...
I loved the 1st and I'm really looking forward to the second. I'm just a little worried that I never see the lightning storm anymore (worried they traded it for the tornado) and it doesn't look like he shoots lightning bolts anymore but more lightning bullets. Hopefully they just aren't showing everything or I'm missing something. I like the power they added to the Shock Wave and Static Thrusters though.
Must have sounded better in his head.
LOL so funny. Bubs to all of you.
Troll much palaeomerus? Your last two comments have just been jam-packed full of win. I'd ask you to try again without YOUR fangirl goggles on but you seem to have already met your one bubble too high limit. Bring your brain next time.
To everyone who can appreciate a fun game after a stressful day, ENJOY KILLZONE 3 and R2.
Ending in KZ 2 definitely could have been different but the plot wasn't hard to follow at all. Protect the convoy was an objective in parts but not the story or plot so you clearly missed something. Killzone 3 story looks to go deeper into the conflict of leadership now that *SPOILER* Visari is dead. We'll have to see what happens.
Replay the first if you need to get some backstory or follow the link given by Malebaria to figure things out if you are still confused.
I for one liked the original. I still play it from time to time. My step-dad and I go against the bots in offline MP split-screen. Though the system had difficulty handling the engine, the game was pretty fun. My biggest complaint about the first was the crappy sniper rifle but that was fixed in the second.
Uncharted series is definitely one of my favorites. I could never get into MGS and only liked GTAIII but didn't care for the rest. I also loved the Ratchet & Clank series.
Why do people want to hate on GT5 so much? I don't get it. GT5 and Forza series are both fun to play regardless of what reviews say. Come on reviewers gave GTA IV a 10 so are we really going to use them for arguments?
I think they're just doing it because they can really cash in now. The things they said were really unprofessional and nearly inexcusable. If they couldn't see what the PS3 was capable of and just wanted to join the media bashing it upon release, I see no reason to support them now. Particularly since they have yet to make a game I've enjoyed. We'll see how long this new attitude of theirs lasts regardless.
This is all a little suspect on Crytek's part to say the least. I hope they surprise us all but my doubts are growing.
@dude420: If Crytek have been working on this game for 4 years as you say (I don't think it's that long so I would be interested in a link if you have one) they would have been able to implement all the things Ju proposed. The first game I saw using MLAA was the Saboteur. GOWIII came out after and used the same tech though it seemed improved. Guer...
Another well said comment by Kleptic. That combined with the stat analysis below shows the level of bias. It's one thing to not like KZ3 but to show bias from a foundational standpoint is just wrong and an injustice to the devs who designed the game and put hard work into it. Hopefully this changes and people give games a fair shake instead of biasing secondary to consoles, hype trains, and pay-offs.
Great post Anh_duong. That statistical analysis is pretty telling. I don't base much on reviews but still to see that there is such as bias listed as mathematical fact is pretty unbelievable. How can people still argue about the rating systems not being broken?
@kancerkid: Did you look at the stats? Do you know how to read stats and variations? It's pretty clear. Your post is pretty senseless by the post.
Thanks for the link. That is some amazing stuff. The tech coming to games just gets better and better and that makes them even more exciting. Bubbles to you michaelheuvel.
Thanks to everyone for the info. I agree with Ju. Don't knock someone for explaining something that not everyone knows.
I read up on this and it seems cool. The video is definitely impressive. I'm hoping someone with more tech knowledge than me can explain if this is similar to ray tracing. The lighting effects are really amazing especially how color bleeds onto objects. Is this a step towards ray tracing? Please clarify because I'm always looking to learn more.
I don't want anything to "kill" COD. I love that Battlefield, KZ, Resistance, etc. are not plagued with the noobs and idiots found in COD games. If something else comes out and draws the COD crowd I will be disappointed because I can honestly do without them.
I'm really looking forward to Battlefield 3 since I have a deep appreciation for the gameplay of Battlefield games.
