I can't put much stock into that narrative. It's most likely being ported by another studio, but what is the game going to be completely different on the 360? I can't see how it wouldn't be the same game w/ lesser technical ability & at most a couple of gimped features. Wouldn't make much sense to have a completely different or even fairly different title on the older platform & still have it be released under the same name. Look at what Ubisoft did w/ AC Unity &am...
I'd say the amount of branching paths in Until Dawn could be pretty taxing on resources as well, and seems to me from prerelease that the amount of content would be on par w/ open worlds, especially through multiple playthroughs. Bugs are bugs at the end of the day, the open world nature is no real excuse, most of Rockstars output typically comes off w/o a hitch on every single release. Devs should never ship a game w/ frequent game breaking bugs, I don't care what they are shooting f...
Don't count out UC4 for a mind blowing reveal. They went more intimate w/ a closer look at the new mechanics & animations for the first look, but people can't forget the mind blowing set pieces that have been shown at the E3 prior to release. With UC3 we got to see the boat set piece & I believe the run from the helicopter from UC2. With this being the first title on a new gen, I'm expecting something even more special. It'll be great to see the evolution of the set pi...
Considering all of the textures in Uncharted were originally hd and ported down for the release, it actually shouldn't be that labor intensive to remaster at least in that aspect, throw in the work on TLOU:R and it should be fairly easy for them to brush up the gameplay as well. I'd guess the mp portions would be the toughest but I've never really touched them so it wouldn't bother me if they aren't up to snuff on release. I'm just hoping that they throw in Golden Abys...
Does anyone know if the rumors are shaping up to solely be a collection of the 3 console releases? Never got a chance to play Golden Abyss & I'd absolutely love to have that guy included, but that doesn't really seem to be the case so far.
Have you been giving these games an honest shot? They might be less valuable in monetary terms but games like Valiant Hearts and Guacamelee have been some of my favorite experiences on my PS4 so far. Really hoping they drop TLOU:R on there sometime soon as I've played it multiple times for PS3 but I'd like to have a play through w/ the new visuals but I'd rather not drop any cash on it. I'm of the mind that the AAA games may be fewer & further between but they will pick up...
Per your comment about Sony's past lineups, 2011 saw the release of Uncharted 3 & Infamous 2 and I believe a Little Big Planet title, along w/ a pretty great lineup of other titles…can't remember how the e3 was but GoW3 was the year prior so I think those e3s would've been pretty great. 2013 was also a banner year for the PS3. I'm of a firm belief that the odd years are the best across all media and gaming in particular. 2015 looks to be keeping that prediction sound but I...
Now that's a perfectly reasonable & pretty amazing list. I tend to think that there won't be huge reveals for MS at E3 this year simply because there doesn't need to be any, the lineup is already pretty staggering for the back half of the year. I could see Rare showing a cg trailer for a new title & I could see a potential 3rd party deal, but people expecting huge new reveals should really just be satisfied w/ all of that potential already in your list. I'm a Sony guy ...
But giving devs that kind of slack is a slippery slope that ends in broken games like AC Unity & Colonial Marines. If we just change our expectations to the nebulous "will never be as good as the initial reveal" then how much slack should we give them? They are ultimately trying to sell us a game & they need us far more than we need them, why give them the position of power? I agree that its a shame that this title was singled out as it seems like a great game otherwise but ...
Unless the lighthouse in question is a towering skyscraper w/ running lights on its steeple. Don't think it's Bioshock either but the idea of a lighthouse can be repurposed in a multitude of ways.
I think the writings on the wall as to what's next for the Arkham franchise & the 2 devs involved in it: loose movie tie-ins. Montreal spent a fair bit of time setting up Suicide Squad in Origins so I'm guessing their next game will be a Suicide Squad title in time for the movie. Rocksteady have been making a big showing of their Dual Play feature which seems like testing for a future Justice League game to tie in to those movies. I'm willing to bet that Arkham Knight has a lo...
@MrSec84
You have hit the nail on the head in terms of what I'm expecting from MS' conference from top to bottom. It'll surely be great for gamers to finally get a look at these games in action & will make for a great conference, but I'm not seeing many big surprises either. Like you said in terms of new reveals I'm expecting a cg look at something from Rare & potentially Twisted Pixel, maybe some HoloLens proof of concept tech demos & at the m...
"if you’re in the LA area, you wanna be one of the first 500 people, because we’re gonna hook you up, that’s all I’m gonna say."
These surprises obviously aren't pertaining to games announcements, but some form of swag. Maybe early access to a beta or some special edition consoles for those in attendance, but definitely not a game announcement going by that. Doesn't mean there won't be game announcements there, but that's not what these surprises he ...
"I tend to look at things from a consumers perspective."
As you & everyone else should! I understand game development is hard, but I find it even harder to believe that they honestly thought they could hit those initial renders. It's not an accident that these things are happening, but lets say it is totally & completely accidental, shouldn't we as gamers at least point out the discrepancies so they can make an effort to understand their goals & ...
Haven't the last 6 or 7 of those been confirmed to be working on HoloLens titles? Most of the rest we already know their titles, aside from maybe Mojang, Twisted Pixel & Rare. Doubt Mojang has anything ready yet considering they were only bought out a few months ago, unless they had something in the works prior to the buyout. Sony won't push out titles if they aren't ready, Uncharted 4s delay is proof positive of that. Driveclub had its issues but they had already given it a f...
Nice catch! This would have to be that wouldn't it? I wonder what the "electronic game software" portion of this would entail...maybe just a casino sim, since the series is set along the same lines? It could also possibly be a Payday type of online only type of deal but it's anybody's guess really
So as hard as MS are pushing Windows 10 & with the idea that they are trying to unify the brands & that they receive money on both ends, why exactly would they wait to release it for the PC? Why would they call it a timed exclusive for Xbox & not announce that it'll hit the PC at a later date if they stand to benefit off of both? Does that make any sense? The timed exclusive only refers to their side of the contract, Phil has said on numerous occasions that they don't own ...
I'm just glad I'm not crazy…I thought the same thing. It's not the foliage that's the issue, its the physics of the wind, where huge sturdy trees are affecting in the same way that small thin bushes are. The larger trees & certain varieties of trees should have no movement whatsoever. It seems like a nitpick but it was distracting for me too. Either nail the physics correctly or leave them out, this is the Tomb Raider tressfx deal all over again, why shoehorn in elements t...
@Imalwaysright
That statement from Spencer really doesn't say much about actually funding development, he said they do marketing on games regardless in that exact same statement, beyond that it is very vague because marketing & publishing costs could be considering alleviating a budget that would now be spent solely on development. The CD head said specifically in Game Informer that the game would've happened w/ or w/o MS involvement so that says to me that they m...
Wasn't the last word from Kojima & Del Toro around psx that they hadn't even nailed down whether they wanted the game in 3rd or 1st person? I agree, there's no chance this game was 80% done if they at best had just decided on a perspective. I'd live to be able to play what Silent Hills would've turned out as, but the series in particular can just fade away, let something else in a similar vein take it's place. The name is already tarnished w/ a handful of weak titl...
