We have a few NEW AAA tities coming out this winter, which will get advertised to death, the PS3 has an SKU thats actually CHEAPER than one of the Xbox SKU's, and the xbox didnt see a very impressive sales jump from Halo3.
I dont think negative press is enough to stop an explosion in PS3 sales and the XBOX doesnt seem to have an explosion left in it. Just my opinion though, but maybe this guy knows something I dont.

Both of their PS3 exclusives, though taken in a completely different direction than their normal games, look to be the top two games for the consoles
Those games being Resistance:Fall of Man, which really doesnt get enough credit, easily a 9/10
And Uncharted which seems to be shaping up as a 9.5/10 right now.

I think NA will end up getting atleast spiderman bundled with it, but I hope they release that two game bundle for the 80gb at 499 later this month too. That would mean your really getting it all for 379, w/ BC and a 80gb harddrive.
Pair these up with a couple of Sony HDTV's for free, and I cant see PS3 sales being any less than massive this winter.
How does that explain how people will start tossing out their PS2's? They have a HUGE ps2 section because they have a HUGE ps2 install base.
If you already have a PS2, get the PS3 40. If your one of the few gamers left who hasnt picked up a PS2, Get the 60gb or get a 40gb and a used PS2.
It wasnt so much a feature of the PS3, but an extra throw in. People werent buying the PS3 more so for price. Convenience against losing all the features of the PS3 doesnt measur...

Secondly, i dont think, if your complaining about price and all, that you dont have BC. That wont be a factor. If someone is considering buying a PS3, i dont think the fact that its missing BC is going to change anyones minds. Ppl can whine all they want, but its not a huge mistake.

Software is profitable, hardware isnt really. There isnt room for the xbox despite their best efforts.
If MSFT gave up on hardware, bought a whole bunch of companies, and made them pay to play on the PS3, then they would have all the benefits and none of the losses.
