really, they should be looking at steam as a fine example of how to sell games digitally.

The only way one console could be more 'future proof' over the other is if one allowed for hardware upgrades while the other didn't. utilizing the 'cloud' and what not is not exclusive to one console.

The video brings up some nice features; moving profiles, voice commands, face recognition, etc. But i don;t get how they make the console future proof? Seems like microsoft have focused on filling the console will all these features and have tacked on the ga...

I hope that with the dawn of the next gen approaching we will see new and interesting IPs instead of the regurgitation of titles we have seen this gen (CODs, Need 4 Speeds, FIFAs etc) which don't try anything knew and pray on people who have that need to have the latest for the sake of trying to keep up with the trends

The problem with casual gamers is that it encourages developers to make 'casual' games. We have seen the effects of this on the 360 where hardcore games were substituted for shovelware rubbish for the Kinect. Look was has happened to nintendo, the inventor or hardcore console gaming.

While games such as call of duty make loads of money, developers will sway to copying their template as quick money making schemes rather than investing time on new IPs and new ideas that...

wasn't GTA originally on pc, then ported to playstation?

well for indie developers who will be focusing mainly on pc platforms this is good news. we may see programmers favor the mantle API and see some truly outstanding games for the pc platform.
I think the article hit the nail on the head when it says "This can only mean more fragmentation and more problems for poor developers". Good developers should have no problem

Two things. Firstly, fanboys make up a very small portion of the people who will buy xbox1 or ps4.

Secondly, the fact that many of u are downplaying what has been written on the comments just shows how immature the hardcore gamer community can be. Toysrus is a store who's main focus is supplying children toys. It makes Seanad then that a lot of young children will watch their YouTube videos. That is why they took it down.

Fortunately the number of peopl...

Pc purchase for me. Recently starting to feel uninspired by the current gen visuals. Likely due to all the exposure to recent pc games and videos of next gen titles

They are going to fix the head tracking. from what i have read there will be a lot more features going into the headset beyond a 1080 screen.

Most who have tried the rift say its a game changer and i would agree. I am more excited for this than next gen consoles if i am honest.

When there is a demand a supplier will provide. There will always be a demand for easy access gaming devices when the entry cost for pc gamer is high.

I guess we will see if the steambox will affect this.

Come on guys. The argument for exclusives is irrelevant here.

If we look at technology, pcs offer the better gaming experience and more flexibility.
You have more choice of controllers to use, sound set up, peripherals etc

Plus, you can't ignore the oculus rift. That is a game changer. You can't deny this if you are a true gamer and not some fanboy gimp.

At end of the day, if you want the games with better graphics then go...

Catering to next gen is easy as all they have to do is produce games that cater to current spec PCs. Really, a current PC rig of around £600-700 is what we can expect, if not more, in a next gen console.

The first place I think of when wanting to see a review if youtube, not a magazine.
I am suprised it has carried on this long, especially since many of its target audience are more comfortable being catered to through digital formats.

Sure but now you are judging a game solely on its creators. It would be more appropriate to say I'm looking forward to learn more about this game than simply saying I'm gunna buy this no matter what. It may be shit.

Looks good, but like people have said above, it looks just like uncharted but in the star wars universe.

Will wait for further details before giving judgement.

regarding Graphics, I think we are starting to come to a point in this generation where certain graphical effects can be used to create a more impressive look. For me, this trailer shows good use of lighting, and attention has been given to the flame effects and such. character models look similar to...

Makes me laugh when people say 'Day One Buy' and all that. Nobody knows anything about this game, not even much about the concept. We have seen a brief trailer a few years ago and that is it. You can't judge an upcoming game simply my the producers behind it. Team ICO have made two quality titles in the past, but I'm not holding my breath for this one.

The stat is right :)

A lot of apps will try and make money through advertsising or from buying through additional content. I rarely buy a game on android, but I am likely to buy conetent once ive invested time in a free app.

the point im making is that they will potentialy make a much larger profit from a top console game than a mobile phone application. they are clearly not listening to their customer base, evident through their reluctance to remake ff7 or ...
