Titanfall, while isn't ugly, isn't the prettiest game out there. If they were struggling to get 1080 throughout development on a game that doesn't have the best visuals and also requires 60fps due to the frantic nature of the game, I highly doubt they have suddenly discovered a way to get 1080p weeks before the launch. It has gone gold, what it is now is what u will get. If u want 1080 get the pc version. Otherwise xbox fanboys need to suck it up and be happy with what they get.
I think a lot of people on n4g have double standards when it comes to pc v console. Many are happy to say ps4 is better than xbox one, but few are willing to admit that pc is better than both for game performance.
In this case, pc is better version as it isn't censored. Probably a lot of people out there who will argue otherwise.
Btw I'm not a fanboy of anything. I like all gaming as I am a gamer.
i think it is interesting how microsoft chose to release this on both PC and xbox1 simultaneously. I think if they had known when they had planned titanfall that xbox one sales were gunna be far behind ps4, titanfall wouldnt have seen a pc release this soon. As long as this trend remains, where Blockbuster games become available on both PC and xbox, Gamers will be at an advantage if they can own a ps4 and pc. Bets of both worlds.
I don't agree. I think titanfall will be a success. Anyone who has played the Beta will know how fun the game is. have you played the beta?
PC version is the way to go, as in most cases for multiplats ;-) haha, but seriously, why is everyone getting so upset? You have a choice and aren't forced to buy a censored version, unless 360 is your only gaming platform. if that's the case, i can understand why you would be upset. However, I don;t think a handful of 20 second scenes being censored will take a lot away from the overall experience you will get from this game.
i agree, in that in titanfall's case, microsoft has garnered a whole load of hype which will result in sales. Whether or not that will have an impact long term is left to see.
TitanFall is a very fun game. Whether or not that fun feeling lasts or the game gets boring after 3 month is something i can't answer yet. But to call it a COD killer is being very presumptuous. And no, Sony shouldn't be worried about titanfall. One game doesn't win a 'console war', and Microsoft has a lot of ground to make in terms of sales. The price drop on the other hand may make a difference, but only time will tell.
I do, however, think Sony needs to release...
Only censored on consoles. Pc version not affected. So steam should be fine. Although not sure why you would buy on steam when I can get it for less than £30 at a lot of other places. Pc version that is.
from what i gathered from that, i don't think it will ever go to consoles, but instead directly compete with them once games can be hosted on the rift itself.
There is a very similar service out there already called OnLive. does exactly the same as playstation now. I have used it, and while it gives a glimpse into the future, i found that bandwidth limitations hamper the experience. as network technology improves, perhaps we will see this streaming service improve and be widely used. but at the moment, it is definitely in its infancy.
why would ur internet affect ur remote play? it uses the LAN surely? why would it use the internet?
Thanks for the heads up. didn't know about this. i put ff8 on my 50 inch the other day, after telling the mrs about how good the game was. she just laughed when she saw how bad it looked. was just a mess of pixels
bought mine for £100 as i wanted it for the indie games. gunna use it with my ps4 which i will buy next year once the game lineup improves. Gaikai on Vita will be awesome too.
PLUS looking forward to playing final fantasys again on the vita. tried playing them on my big tv and they made me cry cos they looked awful. lol
there is no gameplay, its a concept from what i can gather. no idea why this is on n4g. barely news.
doesn't look like publishers will pick this up. Not a good sign. I expect to see this hit kickstarter as from reading their blog, it appears everything is on hold until they get the funding. Don;t expect this to see the light of day anytime soon.
microsoft's portfolio is very large in terms of where it generates its cash. the xbox product simply doesn't make a lot in comparison to its other products. from a business standpoint, money spent on developing the xbox and its gaming peripherals could be better spent elsewhere. everyone knows microsoft biggest earner is SQL, it makes huge amounts of money from it due to its licensing methods. Xbox simply doesn't. probably costing them at the moment.
6-7 years ago the world wasn't in recession, so for sony to sell so many ps4 units in such a short time shows that the public are confident enough in sony to lay down their money, despite the global financial difficulties. i expect the huge numbers are due to many people choosing Ps4 over xbox due mostly to the price tag.
south park has always been pro xbox. I was actually surprised to see some pro PS4 comments in the first place.
i had it on demo, so could play it for 15 mins before it would stop. I used to play that demo over and over again.
GTA2 is still one of my favourite games. the way they had all the different gangs to work for and that was ace.
The issues developers are having with reaching 1080 on xbox one won't suddenly disappear after the API update. If it does it shows what a awful job Microsoft have done in the first place in building the console.
I do think people should focus more on how fun the games are rather than how many pixels are shown on a screen. Honestly some of the most fun I have had gaming recently has been on indie games with terrible graphics.
