Its actually got a lifeline now, especially with that horrible Xbox presentation. If Nintendo advertises it as a cheaper, pure gaming console and brings the big first party, second party, indie, and third party games (Sega, Ubisoft, etc), it could form a place for itself in the next generation. Right now Sony and Nintendo have the only real next gen "gaming" consoles.

Yeah, I'm officially not interested in the Xbox One at all. I'm probably gonna just get a PS4 and a Wii U. Sony and Nintendo apparently are the two that actually care about gaming now.

I'm getting tired of all this immature arguing over this next-gen bull crap. From everyone, not just the gamers. From what I've seen there are a lot of arrogant and immature people in the gaming industry and gaming community.

None of them are ever happy unless they are pulling another group down. Society as a whole is not exactly fond of the gamer and we already have the mainstream media accusing us being violent child killers, so we don't need to make it easier ...

The headline makes it seem Nintendo is giving up on the Wii U and making a new system. In reality, they are just preparing for the far future like all of them do.

Misleading Headline. Besides, every console maker starts developing years before their next console is expected to debut, even when they just launched one. The PS4 started development in 2007.

No videogame has made me cry, but the CGI short movie with Ezio's death made me tear up.

I doubt Katie Couric is gonna take this well.

They already said that it would be titles coming this summer, the ones we already knew about. The point this one is to tie up the loose ends for Luigi U, Animal Crossing, the Wonderful 101, and Pikmin 3, which has been needed since they were announced. Besides, why would they drop any bombs now? It's a month before E3, the big news is coming during the 5 Nintendo directs during that time period. They even teased a new relationship with a major 3rd party developer with the exclusive Sonic ...

Because Nintendo never follows the path everyone else is following. It may overlap sometimes due to coincidence, but Nintendo always ends up moving on and walking on its own again. This is what frustrates a lot of third party developers, because they have this sense of hive mind that allows them as an industry to work together. This is evidenced by the fact that indie developers, who work outside this, are on much better terms with Nintendo than with most of the (at least the western part) i...

There is also a reason the best games on Nintendo consoles are always 1st party. Nintendo games are optimized and created for Nintendo consoles. They always have sharp controls and the best graphics possible on their systems because they know how they work, and created them to fit them. If Mario of any of these Nintendo games were ported to the PS4 or 360, they simply would not feel the same. Besides, Nintendo is like Apple, they like doing their own thing, so if you think EA's and Ninten...

It seems a lot of people don't realize is that Nintendo is not even remotely in a position to ever go third party. Their console, which is currently struggling, is still only in the middle of its first year, yet people say its dead. When the PS3 and 3DS were struggling, people wanted to say they were dead too, but look at them now. Even the Vita is starting to show signs of life again. Besides, people don't realize just how much of a buffer Nintendo has. They aren't Sega, which wa...

...........Huh? What do you mean no next gen?

Its kinda hard taking this seriously with the aggressive rhetoric and all, especially when he said the Wii U is weaker than a 360, a subject that probably can't be summed up with 120 characters. Plus, it just continues to show the poor and immature relationship EA and Nintendo have right now. I don't know why these gaming industry people keep going off on Twitter. It never does anything beneficial, at the best it create more fighting and pointless arguments, and at the worst people lo...

Since when has any game Nintendo has published been a flop?

4746d ago 14 agree2 disagreeView comment

Some have said it is(Activision and Ubisoft for example, and even EA at one point), some say it isn't (Like EA now, and a couple others)

I actually kinda like that Nintendo is switching out the big presentation for the Nintendo Directs and smaller presentations because the big ones at E3 always are letdowns. Too much hype builds up and we are left hanging with less actual substance than we thought we would get. Plus, it doesn't seem anyone can get a decent speaker unless its one of the actual higher ups.

Eh, I guess that makes it more worth wild to buy them all then. Less overlap.

4748d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

they are going to be there, just not with the giant 1 presentation. its more like many smaller presentations for different audiences and with different news, announcements, and footage.

A lot of speculation and no news always lowers hype. Relative to the other to consoles, gamers in general are more hyped for it than the Wii U or Xbox 720. This is because most are assuming that it will be the best console.
