Couldn't agree more. Balance is a hard thing to achieve, but without it, an RTS game just isn't fun. Proper balancing only comes with thoughtful planning and lots of testing. Let's hope they don't rush it!
The only thing I ever found the AI ally good for was absorbing some of the attacks from the enemy. They were useless in attacking, but they made a great shield!
That said, I'm glad they won't be there in C&C 4. I'm too much of a control freak in RTS games to allow an AI to mess things up for me.
It's too bad they go and squander that new found respect on the DRM they put into this game! I'm not buying a game that requires you to be online at all times for single player campaigns. You think EA could have found a better way to destroy the respect that they had earned....
I'm sure D3 will be delayed, but I'm glad it isn't being delayed this early! I really can't wait for D3 to come out.
I have a 60 gig monthly download cap and I push it to its boundaries every month. And before you say 'just switch carriers' I actually did - that is how I have 60 gigs now. It's the most I can find in my area. Stupid lack of competition in Canada.....
I'm okay with them reviewing only the single player portion of the game, as long as they explicitly state that that is exactly what they are doing. People have their biases, and sometimes they care about multiplayer, sometimes they care about single player. I am fine with you embarrassing your bias as long as you will be up front and honest about it. Unfortunately so few people do that.
As for reviews of half the game - that is unacceptable. I realize that you want to be the ...
The problem is that this isn't a solution to cheating. The problem is that this is invasive DRM. I'm honestly surprised that there isn't more outcry against this as this is some of the worst DRM out there. If there servers go down - too bad. If your internet isn't working - too bad. If you don't have internet (and don't kid yourself into thinking that everyone who would be interested has a connection) - SOL. Personally, I think it is absolute crap. I love the C&C series, but I won'...
For real. They tried to make it look like theme hospital, but it isn't anything close. I was tempted to download the demo for the PC, but after reading about the game for 30 seconds I realized it would be awful and ran the other way.
I don't doubt that it deserves the 2!
Yeah, and screw that other 10%!! Take that people who don't have access or can't afford a 24/7 connection!
This is just another dressed up version of the draconian anti-piracy measures that they are putting in place. This time they are trying to trick gamers into thinking it is for their good. I'll admit, it is slightly better than Securom and all that crap, but I don't like it and for me, a potential deal breaker on the purchase of this game. I haven't bought the last few C&C games because of the restrictions (Although I own every single one of the older ones) and won't buy them if they ke...
Don't forget that # of Computers in US >> # of people.
Haha. As someone who's avatar says support piracy, I think your opinion caries less weight with publishers.
It rebounded later in the day, but it is getting hammered again this morning. All in all it doesn't look good for the short term investor, but most long hold investors won't care since it means a more powerful FY2010. Long term gains are more impactful than short term loses
Haha jmare. Totally agree. Also, the Hindenburg? That made for a worse day than a few awesome and highly anticipated games getting delayed. Bad news, but not the worst day ever - by a long long shot.
Yeah, Pinkerton was super gritty and had that intentionally unpolished feel that made it really raw and emotional and awesome. This song is definitely more like the pop-rock stuff they put out afterwards. Still good, just no pinkerton.
Gonna be an awesome game, and the vid is awesome, but it is a duplicate story.
Didn't we all learn from the empire strikes back that any sort of armored vehicle on legs is a stupid idea?
Yeah, that is some pretty silly speculation. It is one thing to delay the release a new IP that is in the same genre to protect its sales, its a whole other thing to delay something in a completely different genre that already has a huge fan base and has been eagerly anticipated for a few years. I would estimate that it wouldn't affect bottom line sales. Blizzard will release the game when it's ready and polished, not sit on it for a few months to *potentially* make a few more dollars. Do...
I played way more D2 than starcraft/warcraft 3, but I never played on LAN like I did with both starcraft and warcraft. I don't care about the removal of LAN from D3 (even though I am way more excited about D3 than starcraft), but I still think starcraft 2 will be missing something without the LAN functionality.
The best search engine is both Google and Bing. They often point to different sites and are both useful. Anyone who swears allegiance to one and refuses to use the other is missing out. They both have their place.
