Can I run it, sure.

My problem... you see I do love me horror games because they genuinely scare me, some times, were as movies now a days do absolutely nothing for me. And as much as I would so love to see a horror game on either PS3/360 I'm not sure I can take it with all the "next-gen" looking goodness.

You know, its really easy to bash them but really, they put out a new version every year. Thats not exactly easy. I'll give you FF13 and MGS4 but KZ2 while looking very nice is nothing more than a favorite of people who visit sites such as these. Not that this is a bad thing, but the average person wont go into a store see KZ2 and go, "ohh I have to have that!" if anything they might remember the KZ1 and run away very fast, which would be a shame. And I'm still not sure why you put FF12 as its on PS2.
