Ohh I have no doubt they will and in point of fact, if I had an HD TV and wanted a Blu-Ray player, the PS3 would be my choice because it is currently the best and I, as a gamer, am "in the know". Problem is most people are not and if your not a gamer, chances are you wouldn't pay attention to a consoles commercials.

Anyways, even if the PS3 is the very best Blu-Ray player people will still buy a stand alone player regardless. Part of it is because, stores which sell both units would want people to buy the more expensive of the two and also the lack of trust. By that I mean, even if I said the PS3 is the best player, people, because of the PS1/PS2 will see it as a gaming machine. Now its definitely a perk of the system, but well there y...
PS3 aside Sony as a company has never been a great stock to own.
Though I'm sure some PS3 lover will call me a "insert random expletive" for saying as much. If you don't believe me just research the stock. And the same could be said for MS, though not to the same degree as SONY.
Nah I wasn't misled and while I will admit that Java does bring with it some good things, that which it brings is also a drawback.

Disney has been backing blu-ray only for well a long time now. Though, just my opinion here, I don't think its as big as say having Paramount or WB since I don't think that parents would pay 30 HD movie when an 8 year old wont complain about a dvd version anyways.
But Disney does come with Pirates, and as much as I hated all 3 of them I can't deny their popularity. Ohh and Pixar too.
I'd have to say Sony is worse, though not because of the PS3. They refused to fix a broken TV I bought from them a year or two ago. jerks...still angry about that.
Then again I've had to call MS twice for the RRoD and both times I got someone who didn't speak English. Though as annoying as that is I don't really blame MS since well its hard to find an English speaking Cust. Ser. department in any company. :/
No I said it was horrible for a DVD interface, not for a general GUI. For a DVD interface something such as HD-DVD HDi is much better. At least for what I've read about it. And as I said before, java is to program heavy for a DVD interface. Almost anything else, yea java is best.
Actually, at the moment the 360 has a more diverse lineup.

Anyways the number of players per server means nothing. Every game has a number that the developer fell best suit that game.

The simple fact is that some games get worse as you add more players and some benefited from the exact opposite.
Bah, this isn't an anti-blu-ray thing but why did they use java. I mean java is great for many things, but its horrible for this kind of software. Its like using an 18 wheeler to move a rocking chair. Again this is not a flame against blu-ray as I'm sure someone will take it be, just an observation from a CS major...

I don't think its that. Sure HD looks better, but at its current price its just not worth it. That and most HD is only worth it on 32in + and, from what I've seen anyways, most people don't but above 32 inch.
Out of curiosity... Why do people keep saying KZ2 will sell consoles? I mean I have no doubt it will be a great game, but its popularity after KZ1 is kind of low and really if you knew nothing about KZ2 and saw it in a store would you give it a second look after you played KZ1? I would normally try and relate it to another game, but for the life of me I can't think of an example right now.
Anyways I really hope its a great game, that I myself might buy once the PS3 comes down...

Yea I agree with you on that, except the part of everyone wanting to go play it.
I guess I'm the oddball who is kind of in the middle on this game. Sure I'll buy it, but probably not the first day/week. Then again Seattle is my favorite city so being paid to go there and play a game, yea I would probably take that offer up.
Not really because, admittedly very few videos I've seen, there are plenty of things going on in the background, ships fling/blowing up and such.
And out of all the reviews only 1 has said the now must be quoted quote "Halo 2 in HD" the rest said that it looked great. Why not use the 15 good ones instead of the one bad one?
Now I will be the first to say that somethings don't look exactly great. The faces of the soldiers for example look very much like...
Then by your logic I guess Ratchet and Clank will also be a 6 since its graphics are even more "toony" than Halo's.
And so will Smash Brothers and Spore and blah blah blah.
Why for all that is good do people say that anything that doesn't look realistic have bad graphics.
Thats like saying Picasso was a horrible painter because his painting were blue and his cubism style is just plain bad because everything is well square.

I'm 23 and am somewhat techy but I have no desire to by an HD-TV, quite happy with what I have now. Its not the best, but who cares.
