I'll probably get massive disagrees for this but well meh. I'm sure there are lots of people who use the PS3 for its BR functionality but then I ask this. Why is BR only have a 2:1 lead then? I mean there are many many many more PS3s out there than BR and HD players combined. Yes I can understand what hes saying, but speaking or rather typing as such, gives you the appearance of having a lower intelligence. This may or may not be true, but when I have to read crap like that I automatically dismiss any opinion that is stated. I know when you buy an HD/BR from Wal-Mart they don't count the 2 freebie's but at Target they do. So I'm not sure if its like that with the PS3( as is some count it, some don't)

What the hell? 400$ is indeed a good price for what you get, but you buy a gaming machine for games, the fact that it plays BR movies, and in fact is one of the best BR players, is but an added boon. Put a damm game in the box, if I wanted to buy a movie I buy a movie. :<

The margin is just to wide. I don't know the HD sales numbers off the top of my head but if we could agree on say 2 million stand alone units sold I'll go with that.
So if I go by my numbers, which as I said are only an estimate they could be higher or lower either way, then that would mean that BR players out number HD players 4.5:1, but can barely manage a 2:1 lead. What that tells me is that for one reason or another the 2.5 or...

I wont argue with that but think of this. Both sides tend to agree that BR has outsold HD somewhere between 1.5-2 depending on who you ask. Which is great and all, but there are what 7 million odd PS3 and well I have no clue how many BR players, lets just say an even 9 million. Probably more but you get the idea. It should be selling a hell of a lot more than HD right now. So if you were a company which would you look at more, PS3 sales or stand alone sales?

Basically its means they want to see how each formate sales. Which is somewhat lopped sided right now with the 198$ HD player. But there's plenty of time for BR to make its own price drop. In any event 4th quarter roughly means Christmas time sales.

I have a question. Why is it when the PS3 lowers its price by 200$ its because they are listening to their customers, but when Toshiba lowers the price of its player to 198$ or 99$ in this case, its them being desperate? I mean, do you see the hypocrisy in that?

Why its actually down- There was a huge power outage on Tuesday at a media server center in San Francisco. It brought down a number of sites of which include Gamespot. Most sites have recovered but I suppose the outage must have messed something up with Gamespots's servers.
