exactly, They paint these pictures of large battles and epic set pieces that you never actually get to be a part of. I don't know why people are disagreeing. I'm not saying the game won't be fun but what happens during gameplay is never as grand as these trailers.
They are quick money grabs, that's why. They know the game will sell just based on the license.
They always make the trailers look good but all that epicness,action and drama never manifests itself into the actual gameplay.
Clarification: you won't be able to do too many off the wall things during missions(unless the mission asks for it) but it doesn't mean you can't go nuts when just roaming around.
All three new systems bring some good to the table and the ps4 probably has the greatest overall potential.So no need to fear really unless your scared of Sony succeeding.
96,97,and 98 were an incredible stretch for gaming. So many revolutionary games.

Disney magic goes a long way but your right if they don't add additional depth to the characters themselves it will be much less appealing to more serious gamers. That's sad to hear because this game has the scale to be something great.

I dunno Disney Infinity definitely looks like it is a step above skylanders in every category including depth. It has more variety more memorable characters, far less linear,larger scope, it's more customizable, and seems like it will have a good amount of missions.It is trying to appeal to gamers in general but their obviously not the goal audience which is still indeed families. Hmmm...It's good to see the gameplay improving and the infinity engine cleaned up. I may cave and get this somewhere down the line once the price drops because I love Dynasty mode. I really want EA to get it right with these games, I don't know how madden 25 will turn out for current gen but from what ive seen looks like a smaller jump from 13, than NCAA 13 to 14. Hopefully next-gen madden and NCAA brings better games than this gen which has been extremely mediocre.

Well then by that definition alone pikmin 3 is most definitely not shovelware thanks for proving my point.
if you need blood, guts and grit to enjoy your games and justify your hardcore label that's perfectly fine. But labeling games such as Metroid,Smashbros,mario,zelda, pikmin,rayman legends,scribblenauts as shovelware is just silly,YO no matter what kind of gamer you are.
