Sigh. This pretty much confirms no demo in the US if they don't bundle it with Advent Children Complete. There is no way in hell Square, or any developer, would release a demo that is 5GB in size.

Sigh. Maxcer, a lack of a demo means a lack of the ability to test drive a NEW IP. I wouldn't have given Uncharted or Valkyria Chronicles a second's thought if there wasn't a demo.

Also, people were generally gravitating towards Versus BEFORE it was announced for the 360 because the main character is cooler (and male) and the trailer was more action packed (involved the guy flying through the air with hundreds of swords).

As for Lost Planet, the first one DID suck on...

Well, this has less to do with Sony charging developers (as demos fall under the cost of marketing) and more to do with the lucrative marketing deal Capcom signed with MS (this includes week long exclusive RE5 demo, exclusive RE5/360 bundle, and "exclusive" Lost Planet 2). Anywho, the lack of a demo will not decide whether I buy a game or not. Whether I like the way the game looks (I do not) and whether the game gets good press (it has been mixed so far) will ultimately determine wh...

Sigh. Lowcarb, how does that have anything to do with the console war? I was merely correcting the incorrect view of omegaheat, whom you forgot to mention in your post. My guess is you lean towards his opinion.

What better time to learn Japanese?

I disagree omegaheat. Blu-ray does allow for better quality FMV, something that is still quite important for JRPGs today. Furthermore, more disk space allows for more assets. Sure you could fit a large game like Fallout 3 on one DVD; however, they reuse many assets leaving very little variation in the world.

Also, releasing multiple disk multiplatform games DO hurt developers when they do it on the 360! MS charges a pretty high royalty fee for games that take up more than one di...

I could understand people being pissed about the lack of a demo, but to be fair, Advent Children Complete costs three as much in Japan than it does here. So in essence, you'd be paying $40 for a demo and $20 for the movie. Nice way to screw your fans over Square!

Anywho, Square would charge us $60 for a demo/film combo if they were to release one (which would constitute to about $40 on Amazon)so you'd have to ask yourself, would you still buy it then?

No, Square Enix won't release a demo over PSN and Live. The only time they release a demo is if it comes packaged with a game or if it is a demo of a sh!tty, poorly received game (Last Remnant). Squeenix is a greedy, greedy company who will try to make a dime out of demos. Can't wait to see what they have in store for DLC for FFXIII (my guess is you pay for easy level ups and ultimate weapons).

Rolls eyes. Yeah, Polyphony just has SOOO many staff members that they can work on a separate sku and timely release the game! That's why none of the Gran Turismo's came out late! Sigh. If it were an SOE game, then I'd say that it would come out on the PC. But it is an SCE title.

Let's be honest here. There is no way Sony is porting Gran Turismo to the PC. They don't have the man power and it would mean giving up a console selling franchise. What the quote about putting GT on as ...

I'm assuming it comes out within a month of the JP release, ala Eternal Sonata.

Lol. I somehow think this guy is overexaggerating. Even though the Wii is quite powerful, rendering individual shadows for EVERY snowflake, of which there are thousands on the screen at a time, is way too hardware intensive, even for the PS3/360. Lighting and Shadows are probably one of the most hardware intensive aspects of games today and as a result, I doubt his claims. However, the game does indeed look as good as Silent Hill Homecoming (though that isn't too hard to do).

I'm a multiplatform owner, and I could wait for Tales of Vesperia to appear on the PS3.

See, that is what I hate about today's world of "Timed Exclusives". You get screwed either way if you are a multiplat owner. Buy it early, good for you. However, you run the risk of feeling ripped off when the "Super Deluxe Edition with double the story, fewer plot holes, and an extra charcter" appears on the console that you did not buy the game for. However, when you wai...

I get the feeling that most people who will disagree with you to be 360 fanboys who don't want the title to come out for the PS3 in the U.S.

Anyways, Namco Bandai would be stupid not to release the title in the U.S., especially with 80% of the localization done (the PS3 version adds one book of new script, out of five books, hence, 80%. One of the previous four books was dedicated to event scenes, hence the "double the VA remark" as there is indeed double the VA in eve...

A little too negative eh? Ninja Gaiden 2 had the "Only On" logo and was rumored to have been published by MS and look at that title! Also, Namco Bandai wouldn't be suckered into another Tales of Symphonia debacle; they learned their lesson.

Exactly koehler83. It would take a porting effort to bring it to XBLA, something that I don't think Square will bother with. A PSN release means minimal effort for maximal gain.

Lol. It isn't as if I'm not giving video game to movie adaptations a chance. Its just that I refuse to give the fvcking writer a chance. Not after Legend of Chun-Li.

Rolls eyes. If you take the time to read, you'd know that the official unveil would occur in a PLAYSTATION magazine, which kind of throws that timed 360 exclusive idea out the window...

That is technically due to the fact that ToV has yet to release in Europe, though the announcement of the PS3 version will certainly throw a wrench in sales in Europe for the 360 version.

I don't remember 360s getting sold out when Star Ocean 4 hit, so I don't think it will elicit the same response.

6210d ago 4 agree2 disagreeView comment

Er, no. tri-Ace have learned their lesson. Release the game on the PS3 and you'll get an almost guaranteed 300,000 copies sold.
