I'm still hoping for a USB HDD add-on.
CD's use aluminum and other disc media have also used aluminum or gold.
Target uses alloy's which are cheaper then the two above
I named about 40 of them.
Anubis:
Target has been doing this for quite sometime. Notice they went after Sony not DVD-9 or DVD-R media even though they have patents for it.
"Target Technology Company LLC offers proprietary silver alloy sputtering targets for the semi reflective (Layer 0) of DVD-9. Many DVD replication companies worldwide are using our innovative target material to replace gold or silicon as the semi-reflective layer in the production of DVD-9. Our customers have been...
Grasping at straws are we?
First, to bring Kodak into the Blu-Ray Disc Association, Kodak would have to have something to gain from it. Since they don't make players or movies per say, I'd say it would be monetary based.
Second, if Kodak's patent is essential the same as the Target patent, why did the US patent office grant it to the Target company in 2006? If it is the same why isn't Kodak suing Sony for patent infringement and protesting the Target company's ...
Where did you read that?
And why are you comparing a weekend to a yr's worth of sales?
Lets see where it places next week in Japan's top 50 which is currently dominated by Wii and DS games.
GT needs FM and FM needs GT.
With competition comes improvements and innovation.
Without FM2 I doubt GT5 would've had damage at all. Competition spurs change.
I'm guessing GT5 will debut around fall or winter of '08.
Now I have a reason to buy a refurb PS3 from EB next X'mas '08.
This X'mas I plan on picking up a refurb Elite or Prem from EB and FM2, Revo, DIRT, and AC6.
I'll probably also buy another Wii so I can have one for...
Deep,
I bet we'll have to pay for it.
----------------------------- ------------------------------- ---
Yeah, damage and weather conditions about dam time PD listens to GT fans.
GT fans have been asking for damage ever since GT3 came out.
Stormflood IGN images are 480x360.
Deep those photos are 600x450.
That second photo looks very similar to photos I see of SOC all over the net all from 2005.
Your probably right.
VGC has them over 7 million sold right now.
The Wii hasn't even released all over yet...for instants Korea.
The Wii will probably hit around 13 million this yr.
I know for sure it will hit over 10 million this yr.
It's a numbers game.
Over 7 million Wii's sold..probably around 8 million by the time MH2 ships.
Around 40 million PS2's sold.
Over 20 million PSP's sold.
Why no 360 or PS3 ver?
Smaller audience and more expensive to develop for. = less cash for Take Two
Why the PS2, Wii, and PSP?
Bigger audience and cheaper to develop for. = more cash for Take Two
And it's sold over 5 million copies in like a yr.
That game still sells out at Target and Wal-Mart.
I think newer games released within the last two yrs will benefit the most from this firmware update.
This reminds me of the old composite cable vs S-Video debate.
S-Video was better but just barely..maybe a 10-15% improvement over composite res.
GOW2 should look better. It's using recent tech., and it's also progressive scan.
RE2 looks a bit better.
The rest could be done in photoshop. Maybe a blur filter and a anti-aliasing filter.
Some games look blurry (Capcom game) and comes off looking worse then the orig. res.
Othe...
This firmware update has it's ups and downs.
You can't just talk about the pro's of a firmware you also have to talk about it's con's as well.
Maybe a Gamers wet dream, but not an AV freak's wet dream.
Kotaku deals with many people from Europe and Sony has been recently short changing them with the PS3.
It first costs more, but it has no EE and now BC is not really there for them.
Also not everyone wants to keep their PS2. Most sold their P...
Not having backward compatibility in Europe is just plain wrong.
Kotaku is critical of the Wii and the 360 as well.
"won't let you post a comment unless it's approved by them."
Maybe thats because your comments can be considered flame bait material.
N4G flames up daily. Joystiq thrives on the flames.
N4G needs a Fire Marshal.
He's only comparing current handhelds.
The DSL is at or around 43 million now.
It is when you compare current handhelds.
Well it's not for the PS3 controller.
The rumble will just end up going back into the handles again.
Crap.
Just buy the DVD ver. and save $10-12 bucks or buy it used.
