watch the caps lock.
Steve is right. We have more sales on HD then BD stand alone's.
The HD price point works for most people. The BD price point doesn't.
I recently tried to sell a BDPS1(it's a discontinued BD model don't like Best Buy BS you)
Retails for $799 at most stores. We sell it for $699. After the demo the guy told me it's all fine and dandy but it's too slow compared to the A20(we have both units on the same Sony display and Toshiba display). I offered him $650...
God I want this game!
Where is the trailer Nintendo!
I want something up to date!
I'm almost surprised this isn't called Excite Bike..because this is what I see when I think EB.
It's far from dead.
I typically don't sell a BD player unless it's a Sony person.
Most people just buy a progressive scan DVD player or they may opt up for a A2 or A20 HD DVD player.
People tend to pick HD over BD once they see them both playing on 70in screen of say Superman Returns.
At least in our company.
I need to check the price on the new Sony BD players we're getting in today.
Currently, the A20(retails for $399) cost our company only $119.00.
We sell loads of HD DVD players mostly the A20 model.
I wouldn't mind a new 3DO!
I wonder if NEC would get back into gaming? At least on the hardware side things.
Remember I said it first.
The 60GB will follow the 20GB's path.
The 60GB will be no-more in approx. 3 month.
(short term qtr sales boost) This is more about pleasing stock holders then the gamers.
I really saw this when they new 80GB only uses the software based emotion engine(cost cutter, no actual physical EE units anymore).
I'd say it's both.
I'm stuck on price and so far no rumble.
I'm also stuck because no GT5 yet until 08'.
Not good for early adopters. Same price, but with more (games and controller).
Actually why didn't we get this bundle instead of the 80GB?
At $600 this would be a better deal.
Note to developer:
Don't down play your game even if one ver. is better then another.
In the end you only hurt your sales on that console.
I want the PC ver.
Maybe it was me, but it looked like Nintendo and MS both just basically showed 07' stuff.
Sony was the only one that showed 08' stuff.
E3 looked boring to me..the whole thing.
At least back in the old days(last yr) they had booth girls.
I hope they do something with it.
Heck give it away with a new Wii.
It's not helping it sell in our store.
We sell very few BD players over HD players.
But then again we gave away HD players a few weeks ago for buying a flat panel's.
It's a fluff piece.
If it works Nintendo will just adopt it.
It doesn't make since for them to pay middleware USB developers(for external HDD) and DVD software developers otherwise.
They all talk about competition.
It's just the nature of the gaming industry.
Your kinda one sided..
So I wouldn't talk about others.
If anything it looks like MS is trying to cozy up to Disney maybe for other content beside DD.
If DD has good servers you can get 250-500k DL streams. If your on invite only torrent sites you can already see 150-250k DL's. Please, don't talk about HD DD content if you've never watched a h.264 encoded movie.
Will Sony do the same to DVD copy protection makers? What's next BD? Because eventually everything gets hacked or cracked and torrented sooner or later.
I gave you one.
I tend to lose bubbles if I talk about BD issues or HD issues.
Desperado is desperate.
Stop trolling.
