The numbers don't lie the PS3 IS dead in the west. Take a look at any NPD sales report within the past year. PS3/360 take a back seat to PS4/XB1 in sales not only in hardware but in multiplatform games sales.
It doesn't matter there's 85million+ sold PS3s out there The actual user base of the PS3 is way way lower with so many already upgraded to PS4(or XB1). This is just common sense and I don't know why you have such a hard time believing it.

If you have a PS3 then that's fine, enjoy it for what it has. But don't feel entitled for publishers to support a dead system with new games. 8th gen took a long time to happen and thankfully it has been extremely successful.

Anyway not giving Microsoft the go ahead to go ahead and emulate Activision's games on XB1 is something they have the right to do. Something that a lot of publishers will think twice about doing.
