You know the biggest problem with the XBO right now is its lower power level, which makes it unable to do VR properly. An upgraded Xbox One could lead to Microsoft releasing a VR headset of their own, maybe even providing official Oculus Rift support!
That's fine. It's not supposed to be cheap but it won't break your bank either.
If you want to experience VR in the cheapest way possible, this is it.
Any word on if these Move controllers are PS4-branded?
It is a good time for a price drop with the Division hype going strong and Quantum Break coming soon. However it would have been better if they waited to do it on Gears 4 launch where it could have had a much bigger impact.
VR is all about NEW IP and experiences. Sony won't shoehorn in an Uncharted VR or a God of War VR game unless it actually makes sense and is well done.
Consoles always will be important. They were important before Microsoft entered the industry and they will be long after they leave it.
That Phil Spencer is a real pervert isn't he?

Is that a screen with real buttons?
Still don't like that Wii style design though. Yuck.
For a couple million people, it is.
And these are the people who are likely to buy it Day 1.
I can see retailers doing price drops or giving away gift cards with PSVR in the holidays.
PS4 is $350. But most of us already have one. No need to count that unless you're going to include the cost of a couch too or the TV.
There's 40million PS4s out there. Why would you count the price of the PS4 again?
PSVR costs $399. End of story. There's tons of PS4 cameras out there. Those who already have one need an option to buy PSVR without a camera since they have no use for two cameras.
As for PS Move, those cost nowhere near $60. Not even close. Then there's the fact they will be optional. Many VR games will use the standard Dualshock 4 controller.
Well it's not cheap but I wouldn't call it expensive either. Those who expected it to be $199 or something have no idea how new this tech is and offering it at that price would absolutely kill the company.
Duh.
The fact it's a console VR headset alone makes it have a much better chance of success on a non-niche level.
What console war? PS4 is like at 40 million sold while Xbox One is at 20m. I won't even mention the Wii U.....
If you ask me this war is already over, there is a clear winner.
PS5 will come bundled with a VR headset as standard but only if PSVR is a success on PS4, as in people actually buy VR games....
We saw Microsoft release Kinect as a force bundled-in accessory and that didn't work out too well. Microsoft knew that people were buying the Kinect for the 360 but the problem was they didn't buy Kinect GAMES. It should have been obvious that consumers just weren't using it. That original Kinect sold purely based on hype and marketing...
PS4 will have the VR market almost all to itself. Easily 50%+ if Sony markets it right...
Anything to try and get Nintendo in the conversation
Sony has no reason to allow this. Stuff like the Destiny and Call Of Duty partnership have made people get a PS4. Not only for the timed DLC but for PLAYING WITH THEIR FRIENDS.
Cross Play between consoles would eliminate this advantage that Sony has.
