GTA does not have perfect graphics, but the scope is what earned that 10/10. For a city to be that large, to have so many different animations all going at once, for so much detail and good lighting and textures, not to mention a more solid framerate than any of the GTAs on PS2, that is deserving of a very high score. Add in the fact there's no loading while driving through Liberty City, yeah, Now that REALLY is deserving of a high score.
I'll need to see Haze before I judge it...
I'm with ya bud. The scores Gamedaily and Gamesradar just gave it are a little bit more what I expected. Plus, the multiplayer offline/online goodness of this game screams must buy for me.
Somebody needs to check the metascore for Warhawk and read the VERY HIGH AA REVIEW IGN GAVE THE GAME.
Idiot...
It's averaging out to a 6.5 which is just fine with me.....till MGS4.
Better review. Still looking forward to playing this.
I think we all were, but it looks like a 6.0-6.5 average is where Haze is ending up. I'm still looking forward to playing it tomorrow though splitscreen with friends.
I'm still picking it up. I'm thinking this is the new Killzone, an underappreciated, technically flawed gem that is going to be a lot of fun to play with friends.
IGN - 4.5/10
Famitsu - 8.5/10
PSM Italy - 9/10
Gamereactor - 6/10
AV Club - Metascore = 5.8/10
Import Turner - 4/5 = 8/10
Gamerhell - 6.5/10
Average Score = 6.9/10
Yeah, I'd want some better reviews to come out too if I were Ubisoft.
Uh-boy. Now my pre-order really lost its sex-appeal!!! Man, what the heck? The demo, gameplay vids and previews all made this thing sound like a solid shooter....what's going on Free Radical?
More medicority. My pre-orders looking less and less awesome by the second....
I respect IGN's opinion. They have proven in the past to be reliable critics who bring an unbiased, open-mind to every review. That's what makes this all the more disheartening. Essentially, their review was well written and well focused. They didn't just doze off into never-never land like the Gamespot R&C review and start making up excuses for mediocrity. This was a well built review.
With that said, I am curious now how Haze scored a 34/40 from Famitsu. Also, most of IGN...
AAA confirmed, lol.
Regardless, I'm really looking forward to this!
lol, it's reviews like these that has me only focusing on sites like Gametrailers, IGN and, of course, mags like Famitsu (Have = 34/40)
Playstation exclusive media shouldn't be considered fair and this crap, give me a break. Oh, and Gamespot couldn't honestly review a PS3 game if a gun was pointed at the editor's head. R&C and Uncharted anyone?
Haze review please!!!!
Good score for Singstar though.
It's Sony, and if I've learned one thing as a PS3-only gamer, Sony hates us when it comes to exclusives this gen. If you think that a Sony published title is going to have a public beta, you're dead wrong. If anything, we're getting another delay.
As for me, I'll be too busy playing Haze and then MGS4 to care. I'll wait for September (please God!) to play LBP.
Haha, we'll see. EB Games up here in Canada is always late getting me my games but I couldn't afford to pay in full this time, I had to do the trade-in thing.
Now if I were picking it up at Best Buy...that's another story. Then for sure tomorrow...but unfortunately...
I'm still picking this thing up. The mediocre reviews are disheartening, but they're coming from the small fries. The big king (Famitsu) praised it, so let's just wait and see.
Hey Kid - when you watch the Gametrailers preview, they say there are vehicles in the multiplayer maps. FOR SURE there is one on that giant arms carrier rumbling through the jungle map.
I see that the multiplayer team-assualt plays like Team Fortress 2: what map you're in is the game you play. I don't mind that at all actually. I think that's what I'll be playing more than anything Haze has to offer.
8-10 hour campaign? Longer than Gears "5 hours" of War and Halo 3 (seriously, 7 hours single player). That's also longer than Call of Duty 4 which only took me 6 hours to complete on both the normal and hard difficulties.
This was a good,...
BINGO! I ripped Haze's development team quite a bit for their arrogance in this project. While I hope this game is good for me when I pick it up, I don't feel sorry for them if publicity is negative. They brought it upon themselves!
