ND has nothing to worry about anyway. Didn't they get the memo from polygon? Apparently a broken mess is a 10/10 game. In all seriousness though ND has only ever produced stellar games, and until they prove otherwise I'd just go ahead and expect yet another masterpiece.
Uhmm you nver play resistance,Uncharted or the Last of Us MP?The Last of Us MP was like top 5 best MP I've ever played, and I've played a crap ton of MP games.
I completely understand RacerX. Some people have different tastes. I wasn't saying PUBG isn't fun just that Fortnite is a better game. Again PUBG is more fun, but Fortnite is poilished and well built which in my opinion makes it the better game. Being free and running better sure doesn't hurt either.
What's insane is they have a well documented history of giving great games industry wide low scores and they give a fun but near broken game a 10/10. If you can't compehend why that's a problem I question your intelligence. I play PC,Xbox One, Switch, and PS4 so I have no rat in the race I just hate that they had no problem deducting points for The Last of Us perceived faults, but look right pass all the MAJOR flaws of PUBG. Is that insane?
Actually Fortnite makes PUBG look like a PS2 game. Fortnite runs better, looks better, and has better controls. I swear if you could pick up attachments, go prone, drive vehicles, and switch to first person PUBG would be forgotten in a matter of 6 months. I like PUBG, but until they fix it I'll probably stick with Fortnite. Lets not forget Fortnite is a free to play game with frequent content drops as well. PUBG just brought out a new map while the base game is still unfinished and in earl...
Thanks for the correction. I knew it blew my mind at the time. The whole gaming industry was calling it a best game ever contender, and polygon was like, "Meh, it's just above average." I get some people don't like The Last of Us, but if as a reviewer you don't have standards and can't review them objectively then what are you doing reviewing games?
Sorry, but High Dynamic Range only really matters if your game has solid visuals. How does HDR affect how poorly optimized this game is? It runs in 4K as well, but guess what if you play Mario64 in 4K it'll still look and perform like a N64 game it'll just make the picture more clear. All HDR does is give colors a more dynamic range, so far as I know that's not why people are complaining. I literally haven't heard one person say the game is pretty...Well, until right now anywa...
Completely agree Septic, but according to polygon Friday the 13th should be a 10 as well. I laughed my butt off and had a great time despite the flaws in that game, but it still didn't warrant a 10/10. I know that's not what you're saying but it is what this review effectively states. I'll keep this review handy the next time polygon reviews a game and deducts points for performance. If there's not going to at least be minimum standards for a 10/10 then their reviews shoul...
Isn't this the same site that gave The Last of Us a 6.5/10? I doubt even Shroud and other hardcore PUBG streamers would give this game a 10/10.Apparently polygon doesn't factor visuals, bugs, and technical performance into their scores. Maybe thats why The Last of Us scored poorly, because it was well made. I love PUBG but an early access game with as many flaws as it has shouldn't score anything above a 7.5. I'd be livid as a dev of Zelda,Mario,Wolenstein 2,Horizon, or Cuphead...
That's why I said Cliffy B hurt it. He made a below average game and completely marginalized the user base that made him famous in the process. PUBG will get bigger because it's a good unique game Lawbreakers not so much.
btw PUBG is limited to just one console and PC and it seems to be doing great. I and a million other players bought it at launch. The difference is PUBG is a great game, even with its annoying ugly flaws PUBG is fun. Lawbreakers just isn't a good game.
Agree with you on EA and BF2, but if The Last Jedi is your most disappointing film of all time you must not watch very many movies. There's more bad Star Wars movies than good ones so I'd say The Last Jedi was a middle of the pack movie. I love Star Wars( named my firstborn son after Luke Skywalker)and I thought that while it wasn't amazing it was better than anything George did in the last 2 decades.
I am still enjoying F13. I'm bouncing from Fortnite,PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, and F13. No game this gen has made me laugh so hard listening to players freak out mid match. Its got its problems, but for a kickstarter game I think it turned out great.
Overwatch didn't hurt Lawbreakers, Lawbreakers hurt itself. Other hero shooters like Rainbow Six Siege are thriving (Yes it's a hero shooter) so there's no excuses to be made. I bought Lawbreakers and it was a bland game with no soul. It had stagnant glameplay, boring maps, and lifeless dull characters. If it would've released on Xbox One it would've done maybe a few thousand more in sales, but would've been forgotten just as quickly. This argument always baffles me. Ho...
@Septic And those people that said The Last Guardian performed fine or controlled well are idiots. The Last Guardian wasn't a great game either. The simple fact is that PUBG performs like garbage, and so did The Last Guardian. The difference is one wasn't a massive open-world 100 player free for all. Framerate is sorta important in a online shooter. However, one does not excuse the other. Is it still fun? Sure, but the new $500 Xbox One X shouldn't be having framerate dips down in...
Don't know how you got a disagree. That is exactly a consumers right.
It took me 5 minutes to figure out how to ADS and exit a vehicle(No Joke). The button layout menu is darn near hidden. Just in case anyone wonders you just tap L2 to ADS and double tap B to exit a vehicle. Controls still feel off for some reason, and the framerate is utter garbage a lot of the time, but I can't deny that it's super fun.
What games are you use to playing if you think this runs fine with a solid framerate. It's fun no doubt, but I've had terrible hiccups and the framerate chugs pretty bad. Maybe you're copy is different than everyone else.... Or you're just not accustomed to playing games that are well optimized.
Jason is the best investigative journalist in the video game industry. Every time he writes something it's eye opening. Kotaku is fortunate they have him because he's the only reason I even occasionally visit their site.
Uhhm, HDR makes the COLORS more dynamic...That's it. 4k only improves visual clarity; the same as say 1080p looked over 720p it doesn't make the graphics any better. PC wins against Xbox One PUBG where it matters most, PERFORMANCE. I love my consoles but I know for a fact that unless the dev is lazy there is literally no game that couldn't run better, look better, and perform better on PC. For the record I never said it doesn't improve the picture quality, but when your game l...
