Sony own the Heavenly Sword rights, but Ninja Theory wanted to make their own game for both consoles.
The whole game can be played by yourself or with friends. There are a handful of coop only side missions, however the majority of the game is entirely how you want to play it with no compromises.
If its set in the future, it would be cool if the main character can find little easter eggs around the world referencing the original characters, maybe shrines or cemetaries where characters have been laid to rest or honoured.
