Ha Ha Ha, thanks for the laugh. The content, atmosphere and world alone make this game an easy classic. Go back to your 5 hour COD campaign and dime a dozen, rehashed modern military frag-fest multiplayer.
BioWare taking notes from such an amazing achievement? I can appreciate the humble attitude and support the desire to improve upon the close, but no cigar botch that was Dragon Age 2. It started off great for the first few hours, but ended up a copy/paste fest. You guys can do better... MUCH better.
I have an old launch 20 GB (that I upgraded to 120 GB) that is still going strong, but I am going to go ahead and buy me a slim before too long and just retire my old one and save it as a back-up. It has been a hell of a great console.
Started off really high on this game for the first few hours, but it then nose dived for me. Plays great, looks great outside of all the texture loading issues, but the game itself fell off a cliff into a pit of blandness right until it hit the bottom with the horrible ending. I had fun playing it, but it fell far short of my expectations and could have been so much more, given the five years of development.
Still joining on my first play through. All this does is add even more replay value to a game that is already overflowing with it. This is actually a good thing when put into that perspective.
And this is the kind of shit that is being showered with praise and critical acclaim every year? How sad. COD = same shit, different year. Can't believe it is still being received as if it is some masterpiece.
I will not even notice that the yearly COD came out. It is like Madden at this point and I just don't have the urge to fork over $60.00 for yet another online frag fest and 5 hour campaign. All about Skyrim for me.
Single player in first person shooters or in general WILL NEVER get old for me. At least with a campaign you are getting a new story and different scenarios with every new game. However, with multiplayer it is nothing but, kill, die, respawn, kill, die, respawn... ad nauseum. All while hearing a bunch of whiny kids talking trash, people breathing, yawning and burping, etc. Of course you have the mute feature, but still. It is the same damn experience over and over, and if anything is old, it ...
I was going to rent it, but the game looks like a must buy to me, so I went ahead and ordered me a copy today. I would have ended up buying it regardless.
While I am no fan of this sort of practice, I am not going to pout and deprive myself of one of the years hottest games either. As boycotting, protesting and filling out petitions is completely useless and will have no effect on this sort of thing whatsoever. The only person you are hurting by boycotting this game is yourse...
About to change the RPG world? Nah, Demon's Souls and Dark Souls already did that with it's incredible multiplayer system that only adds to the single player experience. BioWare merely wants to try and tap into the COD, Gears and Uncharted market.
I have it for PS3 and the game is jaw dropping gorgeous. Some pop in here and there, but the visuals are so incredible I can accept it. It plays amazing as well.
The only thing it looks like they are "pushing to the limits" to me is how far they can stretch out the necks of the marine character models.
The more PR shit they talk about this game, the more I hate it. It is going to be an over hyped mess on consoles. The only way this game is going to look good is maxed on a nice rig. Even then I don't think the game itself will be all that great, despite how pretty it may look. Certainly not up to the bar they have set with all of the shit talking they have done. Setting themselves up for failure, in my opinion. This beta is just the beginning. We shall see.
Sad to see such an amazingly polished and beautiful game from a legendary developer flying right under the radar, while over hyped modern military rehashes like Battlefield 3 steals the headlines. My money is on RAGE.
