I have only played the demo of the PS3 version, but the game is beautiful and quite the upgrade from the first one. At any rate, the game not only looks great, but it plays and runs like silk. I was very impressed with the demo and went ahead and pre-ordered it.
I am fortunate that I did not run into this on my first play through. I'll be waiting for the patch before I embark on going through it for the second time just to be on the safe side.
I have had my eye on this one for awhile now. It reminds me of a modern day dark Golden Axe in a way and is also one of the better looking games that uses the UE3 that I have seen recently. I am definitely going to be picking it up next year.
Anyone and everyone who loved the first Dead Space will be buying Dead Space 2 for the single player anyway. The multiplayer here will just be a nice little bonus that offers a change of pace for those who want a little extra and happen to dig what it offers.
Hell, Dead Space did not have multiplayer at all and now we are hearing that there is no reason to buy the sequel because the added multiplayer feature is not amazing, lol? Don't know about the rest of you, but the ...
The game was a pretty big disappointment for me as well. The only thing that kept me playing were the characters and great visual presentation. I was hoping that Monkey and Trip would build a closer, more intimate relationship like what was hinted at so strongly throughout the game, but it unfortunately never really reached that peak.
As for the ending, it was almost like they ran out of ideas and just cut it short without considering the holes that it would leave. Like, why...
Damn, dudes in assless long coats. XD I wonder if David Lee Roth makes a cameo appearance wearing assless multi-colored spandex as well?
Seriously, this is going to be a fun game. Some of those designs would be quite hilarious if they made it in and would be good for some laughs. Wait, for all we know there may be some that are worse that did make it, lol.
Yep, I just beat it tonight and was blown away by what happened after the credits rolled. Absolutely one of the best endings I have ever seen and the game itself felt like an incredible, tragic, epic journey. Will be eagerly anticipating DLC and a sequel. I LOVE this game.
How is this any different from the first 2 games in this respect, lol? You grew horns and took on a devilish appearance in those as well after becoming evil enough. At any rate, nice screen.
I actually enjoyed Dante's Inferno, but to put it bluntly, Lords of Shadow takes a giant shit on that game.
I agree. No offense to GOW, but this game makes it's 6-8 hour campaign look hilarious by comparison. This is a content packed beast of a game that was made with a lot of love. I still do love the GOW series, but Lords of Shadow simply tops it, as far as I am concerned.
This is simply a fantastic game and for those who miss meaty single player campaigns like the old days, this one is for you. My only small gripe is that the camera can get a little weird here and there, but it is fine for the most part. Beyond that, the game itself is a near masterpiece.
The environments simply drip atmosphere and breathe life and detail. There are so many varying environments that you feel as if you are on an epic quest across a vast distance in which you se...
I'll be buying whatever they release for this game on day one. In a generation where we are lucky to get an 8 hour campaign, Mercury Steam and Konami drops an epic 20 hour game on us. Find another game in this genre this gen that comes this packed. Damn straight I'll support additional content to what is already a beast of a game.
Another great review for a great game.
I'm there with you, bud. I'll be picking up a copy tomorrow along with Lords of Shadow.
Another great review for what is shaping up to be a real underdog that many will unfortunately end up overlooking because a couple of reviewers gave it a 7.5, lol. Their loss, I guess. Cannot wait to pick this up along with another underdog tomorrow... Enslaved. It will be a good day.
On the contrary. It is actually a great year for those of us who are sick and tired of 'kill, die, respawn, kill, die, respawn' cluster-fuck frag fest shooters that offer the exact same experience with every new game.
I love shooters as well, but sometimes it is just a bit too much for some of us. In which case, games like Lords of Shadow and Enslaved are a god send. No more shooters for me until next year.
I'll be picking up the Limited Edition of Lords of Shadow along with Enslaved on Tuesday. These two underdogs are my most anticipated games right now as well and I expect that each will fully live up to my expectations. The best part? They are not first person shooters.
"However, modern development techniques allow a much darker tone and aesthetic with grand Gothic environments, fantastic gruesome-looking enemies and intricately detailed character models.
The unique new story, superb cast and modern production values will give existing fans of the series the chance to experience Castlevania in a way they never have before.
Though the game distances itself from previous titles to present a brand new perspective, it keeps...
I like reading reviews just to hear different opinions on the games that I have interest in, and it of course is always nice to see when those games are received well. However, reviews rarely, if ever affect what I buy.
If I know a game is going to appeal to me, I buy the thing, reviews be damned. If I am unsure on a game and it gets universally panned, then that is the only time I may consider holding off until there is a price reduction. Otherwise, the opinion of some rand...
Good deal, I have been wanting to watch Bram Stoker's Dracula again anyway. I'll be taking advantage of this come Saturday.
