When M$ announced that they had generated 1.2 billion dollars from XBL before E3 2010...the world stood still in shareholders land and Sony-Niny were forced to act.
A publicly traded company by law, must make a profit.
.
I thought they were all going broke, that's why they spend 100 million on a advertising campaign.
It's a good thing they are screwing the poor gamers that rely on used game sales to try and keep up.
.
Just another reason to not buy a game. If you can't trade them up when your done then why bother.
They say it will be only for specific games...lol...yeah, just the popular ones.
How long before they go the way of XBL??? What are you complaining about, the demos are still free...I think....O_o...EA says they want to charge for those as well. EA and Sony are the best-est best guys in the world. No wonder they seem to be in some sort of unhol...

Now that is the way you do it. You don't sit around talking about how you game engine is a next gen engine in the current gen...O_o...You get out there, spend a small fortune on something like this and run live feeds so everyone can be a part of the action and the community.
Activision is going all out with this and rightfully so. They built that community. this game is going to be a massive hit and deservedly so.

All you have to do is Goggle Gears of war leaked and all the threads and video will magically pop up on the screen, right before your eyes. Cliffy B, you know how that works right??? I mean your have claimed that you have a Cliffy B and Gears alert set on your computer so every time your name ( 0_o ) and Gears pops up somewhere, you can key in.
I hope NOBODY believes M$ needs help finding these videos...LMFAO...M$ is the worlds biggest software maker and if it...

I can't wait for the beta...lol...this should be funny. I wonder what kind of excuses they will come up with. Of course, I'm still waiting to see some console footage longer than a couple of minutes. The excuse will be something like this...
...I don't know what people were expecting. Our game is no different that any other. The multi-player requires more resources hence it looks " different " than the more linear, scripted environment of th...

Many people have been talking about this type of set up for a while now, myself included and there it is. How Nintendo is trying to lay claim to this tech is just silly.
I believe Onlive will need more than just third party support but will in fact need exclusive titles, the same as consoles, that will make gamers not only want the system but actually need the system and this is where the consoles have a leg up on something like this.

Wii U gimmick???

I think the Wii U might be the future...but since nobody really seems to know what the heck it is, nobody can say for sure...0_o
ALL devices are heading for multi-screen performance. Whether it's a lap top, cell phone or tablet. They will all interconnect with each other and it will be on the go, anywhere...anytime. In the short term they will scale to whatever device you are own and it's limitations and long term, they will be...

You will here more and more stories like this moving forward. I have a pile of games in the corner, in the closet and everywhere else. If half of them disappeared, I wouldn't notice. Judging by the sales, most gamers these days buy one or 2 games and play them all year long until the next version makes an appearance...the COD effect.
Games are too expensive and that is what fuels the piracy movement. Pubs/devs will start to go it alone as the technology is c...

I think the new Beast/horde mode might be the biggest surprise of Gears. Playing with your friends against waves of enemies and now as the enemy themselves should be insane over the holidays.

The memory has been an issue FROM DAY ONE. It is the biggest bottleneck on these systems...how many different ways can these pub/devs say it.
M$ had the opportunity to add more and didn't and it was a very short sighted decision. If it wasn't for Epic, they would of even had less than they have now.

There is a large part of the fanbase that really enjoy the single player and spoiling the ending would ruin that experience. They say the last couple of missions are not included but who knows. The graphics have really been sharpen and that effect has been ruined. Also, there are set pieces that Epic wanted to really show off the Unreal 3 and those will be ruined as well.
The multi-player, as the beta showed, is really the star attraction and I believe that Beast mo...

What nonsense but it's no surprise. They lie all the time and just as this article points out, they probably want to release map packs and don't want the gaming community to get in the way so instead of telling the TRUTH, they say gamers are too dumb to use their space-age engine...0_o
Why don't they say we will look into it in the future and release an update like Crytek did later on.
What's sad is the sheeple keep making excuses f...

...the last Gears game came out in 2008 and did well selling 6+ million...BUT...the 360 has sold a lot of consoles in that time so one would expect an increase in the sales.
Halo Reach came out in Sept 2010 and last I heard, which was months ago, was at 8-9 million mark so it is feasible that Gears 3 with the beta and new updates could reach those lofty numbers. Halo 3 sold 13+ million and I don't think another exclusive will reach those numbers this gen but Gear...

Another fanboy rant about how Battlefield is trying to be COD but in this fanboys eye's Dice is being innovative...O_o

I think the biggest indication that big things are going to happen in 2012 is the fact that Nintendo is guarding the specs for their console...why the secrecy niny...the other guys aren't launching till 2013-2014...HONEST.

September is critical to the holiday rush sales. The games biggest demographic is on holidays from school and most are enjoying the warm weather and the great outdoors. Keep in mind, that a lot of sales are friends playing with friends and word of mouth spreading the word on the game. The beginning of the school year is perfect environment for this and as Halo has shown over the years...VERY profitable time slot.
The game will sell well regardless as was shown by...

Epic sells middle-ware...Kinect requires middle-ware to ease development...hence, Epic needs to offer up a game, much like they did with Gears, to showcase the potential of using Unreal 3 for Kinect games. Many of the KInect stuff is already using Unreal 3 and the games look fantastic. Kinect Adventures is one example...
