Trust me, Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4 suck you into that
atmosphere. You can literally spend over 100 hours trying to get 100%. The game is worth the money. I'm glad you enjoyed both demos, personally I hated the Yakuza 3 demo because I never played it before. Plus the Yakuza 4 demo (not the Japanese version) was for people to try out the battle system with the new characters, so people didn't get bored like the Yakuza 3 demo.
Sega can do it like they did with the dreamcast collection. They can release the Shenmue collection on disc or PSN/XBLA. They can use the Yakuza (Ryu Ga Gotoku) engine to make Shenmue 3 (I think they should do that to save money).
In Europe, COD and Fifa are the most played games on the PS3 (similar on the 360), that is all they play throughout the whole year until the new ones come out. It is pretty sad that some people have that mindset (yeah I know the economy is bad to) but they buy it first day full price along with the map packs/ultimate team packs.
Yeah most are multiplat on the list but who cares. Just enjoy the GAMES no matter what platform :D.
This is a good list (not to sure about Killzone 3, has a good sp but mp is lacking in some areas), LBP 2 is a great sequel, seems like my personal GOTY so far. I think Yakuza 4 should be on here not because of the scores main sites post. The content in Yakuza 4 keeps you coming back for more, you get a dark, gritty Japanese gangster story along with mini games to take your mind off reality.
I would not recommend getting Yakuza 1. Along with loading times, the battle system is clunky. You are punching thin air most of the time. Holding R1 most of the time in battle is annoying, plus the boss battles get cheap later in the game. The story for Yakuza 1 is good.
Part 2 in Yakuza 4 is much better than Part 1. The game gets interesting at the end of Part 1.
EDIT:
@jetlian
I haven't completed Yakuza 4 (PS3 still not reading discs)....
@disturbing_flame
So true. Yakuza 3 was my GOTY 2010 with what it delivered, I thought the game would be average but it surprised me (probably my favourite PS3 game). People that were dissapointed with FF XIII should of got Yakuza 3. PS3 owners who like Japanese games from the PS1/PS2 era should get this.
LMAO about the Ken and Ryu part totally forgot about that. Also you forgot about this (although it's not a bad track).
Get both because Yakuza 3 is pretty cheap plus Okinawa is not in Yakuza 4. You do get a recap of Yakuza 1, 2 and 3 in Yakuza 4.
I agree. I have TWO Kuro Editions (One free and one brought). Gamers who were Sega fans back in the day should get this. This is a man's game (no joke), the game makes you feel like a pimp, gives you man tears (Yakuza 3 did more but the Taiga forced to kill bit was heart warming), the knee to the head violence, the pub mini games and more. Nagoshi-san the general director of the Yakuza series produced Super Monkey Ball and F Zero GX on the Gamecube. You should not miss this game.
I wouldn't say PS3 is reliable (especially the older models) since some have lens failure or YLOD. But yeah I got what I want with the PS3 which was games.
FF X had a great story. FF VI is much better than FF VII IMO. I think people should forget Square and look at Sega. Apart from the Sonic games, Sega have good JRPGs.
I will lay the smackethdown on all candy asses :P
Yeah GC fanboy in tha house lol. Man WWE DOR 1 and 2 were great. Dunno why people hated Super Mario Sunshine, it was fun.
I agree with your comment Nix. If you have all consoles do you have all that time to play all the new releases? I certainly cannot play the new games I get due to time. I like to take my time with the games I purchase.
Also it all comes down to personal preference. If you say you have all consoles you STILL will say that you PREFER one console to another.
Now you mentioned WAW, that game didn't have that many problems compared to Black Ops. People only complained about the guns in WAW. I agree about the lag but I thought it was OK in the 1.06 patch (no matches disconnected etc) in Black Ops.
Check youtube and your friends list. Seems as though Activision are getting more free advertisement from these sources.
I think he means that the same TPS (more like FPS) games sell well and get good reviews because that is the norm this generation of gaming. I agree with him. I have started to hate some of the gaming channels like Machinima due to the fact most of the games are FPSs (they do have other videos for other games but most are just Call of Duty). I think people should buy this if they were a Sega fan back in the day. Nagoshi (general director of the Yakuza series) has produced games like Super Monk...
Nagoshi is the man. I love the blurb he wrote in the Yakuza 4 mini book. He wants people to feel the Japanese culture along with a great fun experience. I agree. The characters personality are much better than FF XIII.
Kevin Butler wins.... FRIENDSHIP, FRIENDSHIP!!!!
