This won't be an issue with X1 as much as it will on PC's. On X1 developers know exactly what each machine will do performance wise. Kind of the beauty of consoles.
Exactly, NVIDIA even stopped development of their Parallel solutions after DX12 was announced. DX12 is a complete game changer as far as CPU bound operation in graphics.
@DoesUs: 16mb is all that is needed in tiled resources for a 1080p frame. More than enough. Leaves plenty of memory for doing compute shaders for effects on top of it.
As for the GPU, it is not used for tiled resource computations. Those are done on CPU beforehand and all mapped out. CPU on X1 is better.
That is wrong actually. ESRAM is larger than DDR5 as far as bandwidth goes, since it is concurrent read/write. Also the System Bus for the CPU on the X1 is 30gb/s compared to the 10gb/s of the PS4 "PS4 is concurrent so technically 20gb/s". Xbox One has higher bandwidth in every area, even network on wired and wireless down to the GPU and CPU.
Edit: funny when fools disagree with factual info haha. Just enforces their lack of understanding.
@fools: e...
It would benefit everyone in their ecosystem, MS would much rather you have Windows than an X1 that is where they make the most of their money.
@Linchpin: They are. Just not ready yet.
I like that Spencer has been in the industry so long and been through the process of making actual games. Very rare do you see that, usually these presidents are business majors and not code monkeys :D. Also love that he is focused on both the X1 and the PC. About time Microsoft woke up and realized it is all the same ecosystem.
Universal games and apps coming to X1 is huge, since you can buy it once and play it on the PC, X1 and your phone. This is the model all platforms w...
Tiles Resources are CPU based almost 100% of the time so yes haha. GPU's aren't really meant to do advanced calculations like that, much more efficient on a CPU.
From the sounds of what Spencer is saying we should be seeing lots of PC gaming love this coming year. No reason all X1 games can't be on PC too, just require controller. Helps their entire ecosystem.
I have in the past, but not anymore. My problem with the model is that I just can't find the time to play one game enough to justify it.
There is a driver out there for the X1 controller, but it is pretty hacked together. Requires USB connection. Microsoft is working on an official driver, but it isn't out yet.
Ah, I see. Thanks.
I have to admit, that I usually make female characters in RPG's just for the third person view haha.
Isn't it a free game to begin with :D
Those reflections and lighting are so smooth. Looks great. I am sticking with Unity though, can't beat free :D
Does the Wireless Audio work over Bluetooth? If so I am doing this!
I can never watch this guys videos.. Sounds like he is yawning every time he talks. Then I start yawning lol
Nice! I have the Titan in my work machine and the 750ti in my SteamBox, hope it lives up to their performance ratios. Wonder if it will affect Alan Wake, pretty sure it is DX11? Playing through that again right now, such an awesome game.
Haha yep. I have had so many fewer issues with Titanfall than BF4 it is not even close. Less issues with Titanfall than COD too. This writer always has headlines like that. It is a Sony site haha, not to be taken seriously.
What has next gen brought us so far.
1. Advanced AI generated by big data.
2. Over 1000 AI on screen at one time.
3. Dedicated multiplayer servers for all players.
4. True multitasking on Consoles.
All these were brought to you by the Xbox One.
