Remasters are obviously better than backwards compatibility for "the industry", since they make money off that.

Backwards compatibility is clearly a great feature for games that have not been remastered; but given the choice, replaying your favorite games at 1080p/60 with all of the DLC, trophy/achievement support, better textures/lighting/etc., improved camera angles (like MGS3 remaster I believe), and whatever other features.. is obviousl...

I remember MAG gunplay being perfectly fine. The game overall was a solid first entry for a franchise. Some issues I can remember are some very long runs to get back in the action (but that's a bit of a given for giant maps meant to hold 256 people). I'm pretty sure there was team killing. They should have done without that. And just overall polish to the gameplay, like how the bunkers, vehicles, etc. are involved, but there was definitely good times to be had on MAG and it's well...

Tough choices from the options.

PS1 - Metal Gear Solid is the only easy choice for me. That's the only PS1 game I still own, even though I did like Resident Evil 2, Tony Hawk Pro Skater (not an option), and others, it's MGS that has best withstood the test of time.

PS2 - Shadow of the Colossus. Have to go SotC, mainly because of it's uniqueness. GTA: San Andreas is obviously great, but IV and V may have outdone it. MGS2, again great, but MGS1 and ...

I remember 2 being the worst of the 3, as many have said, mainly due to the story. I remember it being annoying listening to that lady constantly, but overall the game was good and I'd definitely want it remastered in this collection, including the DLC, like Minerva's Den, which I heard was one of the best DLCs last gen, but I never played.

Now I'm just wondering what a 1000% (10x) more capable gaming PC costs.. taking optimization into account you'd need more than 10x to result in 10x.

Anyone post the cost of a 20+ tflop PC (John Carmack [Doom/Quake/etc.] supposedly says you need about double in PC strength just to be equal to console. Whether that's true or not, we may need to see 36 tflops to be 10x a PS4), that would be helpful.. with general specs so there's clarity if something isn't ac...

donthate, PC isn't a thing that exists with awesome magical powers.

"the difference between console and PC is..."

Is? Whose PC? My neighbor's? My grandma's PC runs Battlefield 5 at 8000p 26000 frames per second? IS 1000% more powerful than current gen consoles? Is? Or a capable one IS. 'A higher end PC IS capable of being 1000% more powerful.'

Qualify your statements, because "PC" isn't a specific t...

@Len

Gears was no "graphical powerhouse". Resistance looked better and released at the same time and it was a launch title compared to gears being a year in and on the easier to develop for console. Comparing it to a game released a year into PS3s lifespan, Uncharted, and Gears looks like dog turds. Most obviously the color pallet, then the textures, the foliage (tree leaves and such), character models, lighting, I remember one site comparing the two they showed the...

So you say they're going to be easy without even looking at what they are?.. Way to waste everyone's time reading your nonsensical assumptions.

The number of trophies has nothing to do with how difficult they are or how long they could take.

I don't know which is old or new, but the second/bottom one with the teleporting/worm tunnel effect seems to portray what the game is about more than the first/top one being your average dudebro action hero stance and nothing at all about the game.

Based on that, I'm assuming the good one is the old one and the generic one is the new one. Hopefully I'm wrong and the second one is the new one. I don't care enough to research it though, since I don't own an ...

What they're saying is Peter Moore is an idiot.

I'm wondering if he's the reason we haven't heard anything about Bad Company 3.

You would have to be a complete moron to take 'advantage' of this offer. Maybe if this was for a broken console.. otherwise, who pays upwards of $400 for a console, just to trade it in a year later for only $200 when there are obviously still years and years of great games coming out for it? And their normal offer of $160? What a joke. People are crazy throwing their money away on trade-ins.

If you happen to for some reason be completely quitting gaming, they appear t...

"doesn't justify a 40$ price tag."

To you, personally.

I don't know your situation, but you come off as being pretty broke and impatient. $40 is not a lot of money these days. That's the Day 1 New price. That's what impatient people like yourself must pay or complain about. Or others who loved the game and would pay a premium to experience it even better than they have in the past. Or someone like myself, who's willing to pay a p...

@ Kings 2nd comment again about price.. what you're willing to pay is irrelevant. Get a job, or wait.

Type-0 HD dropped to $40 New within about 3 weeks. It just came out in March and can be bought for $25 or under Used.

That you don't have patience is not a measure of the quality of a game or its value to other consumers.

You say Type-0 is a great game (it's a 72meta).. but what would you rate it? Considering it was $20 more than ...

The author of the article is a fool. God of War III is a 92meta game with 101/101 positive reviews.

"Cons:
Little has changed besides graphics"

Need I say more?

That is what a remaster is. Do you rate your favorite old movies a 65/100 when they come out on Blu-ray? Do you rate your favorite songs a 65/100 when they come on remastered on Greatest Hits CDs?

How does a game that received 100/101 scores of 80+ (...

"I give it a 8.5...would have gotten a 9 if it didn't cost so much."

A grade is of quality, price is irrelevant.

If The Last Of Us cost $7000, would it be a 2/10? No, it would still be nearly perfect, just prohibitively expensive to own and you'd wait until it falls into your price range.

In a real life example, were the old arcade classics 1/10 or 2/10, because you would have had to buy the full arcade machine to experience...

And people were talking about how Ground Zeroes was supposedly an expensive 'demo'. You need a separate, dedicated, disconnected console to make sure you don't lose this one.
