Care to explain why you disagree?
I'm making fun of the fact that people put so much stock in the meaning of a number. :)
^ Probably not there because it's a GameCube port.
So it's lower than Final Fantasy XIII, Pokemon, Bayonetta, Nintendogs...
-Grandia II was a Dreamcast port which suffered from a lot of slowdown as opposed to its DC version. Maybe it being an inferior port held it back?
-I'm with you on Dark Cloud 2, but the original Dark Cloud, I think a lot of people found disappointing. I think on a list like this, if you've got DC2, it doesn't need DC1.
-On FFX and RG, to each his own I suppose. I can certainly see FFX (I'd sawp it out with FFX-2 because really, what the h...
While I agree with the article *in part* about greater character deveopment/customization becoming more prevalent in other genres, I really think most of that would have happened regardless of what RPGs were doing. Furthermore, those are not a defining factor of RPGs, really. And I say this as a guy who...well...RPGs are kind of what I do, heh.
And yes, somewhat misleading title.
I'm right there with you man. Ef the haters, that game was fun as hell.
The International version that sadly stayed in Japan is even better.
^ "Most websites" did the same thing for Final Fantasy 13.
But hey, by all means, cling to numerical scores as if they mean anything.
One can only hope.
I have no idea why people reference IGN's pages as if it's the Bible of game reviews.
Yes.
^ I want more recommendations like this.
I wonder if anyone will read what he says instead of just staring at the number....
header: "and the reviews, across the board, are a little more mixed than one might expect."
But I expected them to be very mixed. Like all big releases, especially RPGs, there will be people giving it super-high and people totally hating on it.
Moreover, expect a lot more low scores to come out in a few months. Happens with almost every big release. Remember when everyone was giving FF13 9's out of 10 in the first week? LOL.
Looking forward to Monster Hunter 3 and Radiant Mythology 3, no thanks to God Eater Burst or PSP2Infinity, Shining Hearts was kinda meh at the Tokyo Game Show, and Criminal Girls makes me more and me uncomfortable every time I see it.
What a solid software library that system claims. Good times, great memories.
What an unusual reaction. Usually if a "Top ___" list doesn't match that of a forum/community member, the list is officially bogus and lame. I tip my hat to you, good sir or madam.
Heh. Actualy the import cost of this lil bugger is more like a hundred bucks :(
$20? Sounds like the right price for me to check out Nier.
@coolbeans
Exactly.
@RedDeadDestroyer
Hahahaha. Study business, my friend. It's not that simple, and used game sales DO benefit the developer, far moe than piracy. The difference is beyond comparison. This topic has been beaten to death, but holy damn, you could not be more wrong.
