No, in general top 10's are kinda lame. I mean looks back at awesome retro stuffs :)
Love excuses to reminisce!
I love stuff like this.
Here's hoping for Valkyria Chronicles 4 on PS3, Christmas 2011/Spring 2012!
Also:
Go play Final Fantasy XIV.
Show me where? Link?
Hahah holy crap The New York Times are epic trolls.
Means "If you still care, wait and watch very carefully before buying."
That's pretty much it, really.
I doubt this will leave Japan.
Hm, I haven't notied this one n my casual purusing of the J-MMO scene. I guess I should pay closer attention. Hope this plays well.
Top 10 lists just can't win. People will hate any list if it doesn't match their own.
I look forward to the console superiority flamewars that this thread will produce.
"Did you play Valkyria Chronicles 3 at the Tokyo Game Show last month?"
Yes.
"You'll still want to download the upcoming demo, as it's totally different!"
:O
Sounds like BlasterMaster's definition of an "RPG" is "games I like."
Watch this: "Xenogears and FFX aren't RPGs because you just button mash to beat enemies."
See how easy that is?
Tales games aren't action RPGs, they're turn-based. The action RPGs on my list are Demon's Souls, Yakuza, and Trinity Zill.
While many of them have flashy action, their battles are still turn-based.
They're not to your personal liking, but they're certainly JRPGs.
Demon's Souls, Tales of Vesperia, Disgaea 3+4, Valkyria Chronicles, Tales of Graces F, Final Fantasy XIII, Nier, Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4 soon, Atelier Rorona, Atelier Totori, Resonance of Fate, Eternal Sonata, Trinity Souls of Zill O'll...
The PS3 already has lots of JRPGs on it and a lot looming in the horizon.
Not sure where the "finally" comes from.
I was just thinking that, haha. I was thinking "Man, it'd be like the old Holy Trinity if The Gooch was on board...."
At least it has pretty music!
These games all have a great premise, but then I get them, get excited about them, and they ALWAYS end up being waay too based on luck. Very little skill involved at all. And no, I don't want a game where I can just level up to solve my difficulties, I want a challenge where I have to think - where smart maneuvers can get me out of sticky situations. These games are way too ridden with invisible traps that you can't do anything about, yet have devastating effects. Lame.
The first game was one of my favorite PSP games.
Sad that if this same article had "top 10" in the title it would have like 500 more degrees right now. I hate gamers so much.
