It is not? When kids are playing Call of Duty, GTA or Fortnite online nobody cares about the offenses they suffer. Now when a bunch of LGBT adults complain about some truths they hear, the world revolts.
I don't want filters. I want my freedom of speech intact. I want my offenses to be understood as jokes. People need to stop victimizing themselves. If they are dissatisfied they should quit the game and do not disturb with their political agendas.
Any game can be ported to almost any system if the publisher wants it. The Witcher 3 could have been ported to the PS360 if CD Projekt wanted to.
In this generation we saw several new games with great versions for older consoles (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 2, Far Cry 4, Watch_Dogs, Shadow of Mordor, Metal Gear Solid V, etc. Even Vita received Borderlands 2!

Guys, you don't need to convince me. I can see what's happening with the industry. Similar situations happened with food, comunications, sports, movies, TV, drugs, Banks and so on.
We have an illusion of choice. I think streaming is as bad as the other guy. But i'm not delusional. I know that in 10 to 15 years we will be choosing between Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple or any other company what service of streaming ill have.

In the case of Nintendo there is support in the first two thirds of the life of the device and then almost all the effort goes to the platform that will be launched two or three years ahead.
Sony tends to have a slightly lower first third as it has robust third party support and then the final two thirds are stellar, with mature studio...

Your comment and the upvotes in it are the finished example of the problem that plagues the gamerz. They confuse what they want with the real world. Streaming is the future of games, whether for good or bad. It is a better form of business for companies than the current model. And they will impose this model anyway as a steamroller. I really understand your point. PSASBR is a different game, but it shares a lot with Smash. And, for me, this is negative because I don't like too much Smash either.

It would fit the company philosophy and player base much better. A well-made Smash clone will be the target of numerous press criticism and free attacks from the vocalic Nintendo Fandom.
If it was a Switch exclusive (like previous ones were to 3DS) it would have reached 30 million.
Nintendo base and console sales are smaller if you compare Switch with Wii+DS or even 3DS+WiiU. Mobile is the way Nintendo is taking since they become a company with only one hardware.
Sony has the same problem with only one hardware. Thats why they are trying streaming.
