Not how a subscription service like Netflix or Gamer's Pass works in their payout. Game makers get a large untapped rate of uses and money for their content, maybe even larger return then they would have had before if was not on a service like Gamer's Pass. Speaking of subscription services do you worry about those production companies that have content on Netflix or Hulu or any other streaming video service? Or how about streaming music services? Same rules apply there as people wi...
Wait. Wasn't it Kodera that actually said at the investors meeting a couple of weeks ago that services will be the focus of PS for revenue growth going for the next five years: growing services. Servies like PSNow, the service which he actually created and ran for of for PS ecosystem. PNow is exactly like Netflix, 100% streaming service. Gamer's Pass is not like Netflix other than paying a monthly fee. Wait, your cell phone like Netflix too? You pay monthly for. What about your Co...
Just get a USB kit and you can once again talk to the Kinect. A USB to Kinect hook-up for the S or X is not too costly. That giant overreaction where the USB Kinect setup was going north of $300 after MS announced they were discontinuing manufacturing of the kits is now back on Earth at an acceptable price. You can now find several new under $50 on eBay. There is even one (also brand new), currently, bid stands at $9 + shipping. I personally bought one for my X at $45 out the door ju...
Although I agree with most of what you argued. It is already 60/40 split for digital/physical. And it was only a few years ago where it reversed at 40/60. Yes there areas of the world that have abysmal internet (even in the US that is true in places, even in metropolitan areas like LA - I know my office because of it's location in the Art District has had abysmal service up until recently) In a few years time (and with internet improving and with the possibility of 5G being available ...
When Sony released the Pro House explained why there was no 4K BR player by stating "Our feeling is that while physical media continues to be a big part of the games business, we see a trend on video towards streaming," he said. "Certainly with our user base, it's the second biggest use case for people's time on the system so we place more emphasis on that area."
Other than providing media for possible required space for 4K games, if Sony actua...
I don't think so. Where is any empirical evidence that MS would do this over Sony? Both companies have GAAS type subscription services and aspirations to expand (Sony just admitted at the investors meeting last week that is where they growing revenue for PS4 next five years). In fact, of the two they are the ones that if the internet for everyone was strong and their PSNow actually could serve games like they were made, Sony could actually drop not only the disc drive but any internal dr...
^^^^ damn autocorrect. I did not mean "Plasma cosmetology" or the theory that the universe was formed by a facial and pedicure. I meant the theory of Plasma Cosmology.
@Hungryalpaca those that believe the Big Bang is a theory of the creation of the universe are wrong. Doing so scientists would have to explain the Big Bang by adjusting (without evidence of it being true) the laws of physics. Particularly the Law of Thermodynamics which states you cannot create or destroy matter or energy - e.g. something out of nothing. And pretty much throwing out entropy or the belief that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light and relativity did not exist. D...
@morganfell "Christianity has been bad" So has everything else in this world. But, most religions, like Christianity have also been very good for humanity far outweighing the negatives it has had (at least in modern times.) It is easy to pin things on religion using it as a scapegoat to explain historical motives. But, it is humankind in general that can be evil. The most violent people in the last hundred years (actually for the last several thousand) have been atheists: Mao...
@Hungryalpaca "Science doesn't need faith" Maybe but those that follow unproven science sure seem to create new religions of faith based on that science.
And to that point the belief of global-warming caused by man tells us differently. There is such a faith in it that it has reached religious fever not seen since the Dark Ages of Christianity. In fact, all the models of predictions have failed. All the expected changes have not happened. They keep moving t...
Exciting news I hear they are doing Band Brothers 2 series. This time there will be women with a Terminator-like prosthetic arm, caked in 1980's glitter makeup running around the battlefield, GIs with mohawks and face paint like they just came out of a Mad Max movie wearing get-ups from the 1970's, the 101 will fight cyborgs, not to mention actual armament that never existed. But, who cares if this new Band of Brothers series is not historically correct (or anything close to hist...
Yipee! one month out of twelve PSPlus beats Gold with a slightly (barely) better PS4 lineup. OK, that is an exaggeration but, PSPlus has been dumpy this past year, that is for sure You did seemingly ignore that Microsoft is also providing two BC games (Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed <- love this game & Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues). Ignoring BC capability of the Xbox One I am super excited about Squares for my PSVita (/sarcasm off) Holy crap that game is...
First not all black people are American. You do know that right? Frech blacks don't call themselves African-American the actually don't refer to themselves African-French either just French. There are plenty of other black people in the world outside the U.S.
Secondly, there were many countries (in Africa for example) that fought with Nazis and against the Allied forces during WWII. In fact...
Why not? Why is that over the top? Why can't the Nazis be all black or Indian or Eskimoes the one pure race that will rise up an empire for a 1,000 years? So, some things are OK to change others aren't? Why does it have to be accurate in one area but not others, it just a game remember?
See you are part of the problem as well. You had a fairly strong and coherent point and you top it off by calling people "molested bedwetters". Stirring the pot. You literary became the person you are arguing against. Hypocrisy at its finest.
@The_Jackel Let me get this straight @kevb can go on a rant about the X and Microsoft paying off DF but, @Vinniepaz doesn't have the right to go on counter @kevb crappy, obviously biased comment. No, you think Vinniepaz should just block @kevb and ignore, going on some diatribe about opinion of @kevb is righteous and shouldn't be a challenged, thus squashing the right of another person's opinion. That sounds quite bias view (only views you like are the opinions that matter) And a...
I think the point is who are these gamers. People seem to point at everybody else. Who are all those people buying lootboxes? Apparently no one here. People act as if it is a scourge. The only scourge (negatives) about lootboxes that I see is in certain games they have increased what should be the normal grind way too much to get to what the lootbox may provide in an organical way. Or in other cases, a game has made it impossible to complete the game without other purchases like lootboxes...
Like anchovies, David Cage is an acquired taste. Most people don't get him but there is a group of gamers that think he can do no wrong. I am personally now in the middle in how well Cages works standup. I thought Heavy Rain was amazing but, have not felt that same spark with the several hours I have put into Detroit: Become Human. I guess not everything you do can be great. You know who I think is way overrated is Kojima. But, then again there a lot of people that worship him and h...
