Excluding the loss of jobs. That is sad. But looking at the bigger picture console players may all may win in the end. Companies have budgets. So, if it means either Microsoft or Sony are no longer having to spend money on their recently closed companies that money can be spent elsewhere. People act like games (like Drive Club and Fable - Legends) are cheap to produce and even with 180 billion in the bank at Microsoft or the continuing success of Sony's PS4 they do have set budgets on e...
Yeah, but those first impressions kind of dampened a lot possible purchasers. I never bought it for my PS4 but played when it came out on my brothers PS4 and was not really impressed (pretty but did not play well). However, I played it 6 or so months later and I definitely could tell it was a much better product.
@BlackTar187 10% for Madden 2012 isn't a good deal. For whom? It would not be a good deal for Microsoft is what you mean. Go see if you can even get GameStop to even buy that game from you. You will probably be laughed out of the store.
@DJStotty No, but you can trade in physical copies. What happens if that cost for digital with a trade-in allows people who normally do a physically GameStop to now start doing it digitally because of a better return. That is how a better mark up starts affect Xbox's relationship to places like GameStop.
More importantly this is a gift from Microsoft as it would be if Sony were doing it. It is just another way to get you to buy more. There is no true resell value o...
"They are talking about adopting smartphone model for Xbox One where you buy a new one each year and give the old one away to somebody or sell it for half the price."
- First, who is they? Second they are not talking about smartphone model of a new one each year. Just a mid stream hardware update. What is wrong with a console hardware update every 3 years. It has been pointed out...
It is based on multiple sources which means that it has more sources than most anonymous rumors (which are usually one guy hearing from a friend.) As rumors go it is a much more realistic rumor than most rumors we see on gaming sites (since both Microsoft and Sony seem to have similar rumors floating around). I think we have seen little hints of this possibly happening from insiders for a while now. True or false, we may not find out until E3 2017 (maybe they will surprise us all this yea...
I do think there is a difference this generation compared to the last PS and Xbox generation. That difference is not PC but the expansion of the mobile devices into gaming. Both, ARM based phone and tablets will be running hardware processors this time next year that will be as or more powerful in both the CPU and graphics then the current consoles. Neither of these consoles can wait for another 3 years to bring out another device. By that time who knows where the power of these more po...
"This is the first time a developer has made a character model with 500 bones on its face."
That is pretty impressive. The people at ND are truly gods. How else can you explain the ability to add 486 bones to human face when we humans only have 14 there now :)
Thank god I only had to remember these 14: Sepio,, fliopitter, laddser, liphit, fadogit, diopem, magone, puket,ni nniom, tenir, yougop, werrit, pokolop and fubat....
I did the same thing and sold both my consoles. Because, you know a rumors like these are definitely true when your brother tells you after he heard it from his best friend's 2nd cousin once removed. The cousin of course got the info from his mute girlfriend, Gertrude. Before passing the info to her boyfriend Gertrude Hellen-Kellered it from her favorite middle-school teacher at a Zumba class. The teacher of heard the rumor while getting his hair cut from his geriatric barber Hector ...
@Artemidorus New jack equals Microsoft requiring you to buy a new controller? That is FUD. They just added a headphone jack to the bottom. . The Xbox One controllers new iteration is the same other than a silly headphone port that was originally part of stereo plug that came with their headphones. It ads no other benefit to players, no difference in button arrangement or feel, no difference in game play, no difference in anything. You can still plug the same things in auxiliary device ...
Well where is the guys' lunch? As I guy I be pissed they aren't giving me the same opportunities with either my own gender based lunch or a pole to dance on. Oh well, I need go rant on twitter about it.
I do understand it was club themed party was for men and women. Let's be honest it was a very unrealistic club theme. Come on those dancers were a little "over dressed" compared to a lot of girls (whoops! I mean women) I see at clubs nowadays. They ne...
@Kingthrash360 It is one thing to say truthfully that the PSVR is going to be cheaper than the Oculus or HTC. We all know that. But, you are completely incorrect in your pricing of the PC. It has been shown time and time again that $1500 price is way overkill. Anybody can build a computer (or even buy something from Dell designed for the mid range & up requirements of both these other devices for under a $1000. At $999 you get a Dell + $200 off the Oculus so that machine and Oc...
If you want to be hooked into the Amazon world, like AWS cloud space which they really push with their Lumberyard (e.g. GameLift) and online play thanks to Double Helix, then you would probably favor their version. But, Crytek 5 is much broader in it's implementation and very well supported. Amazon's Lumberyard is a licensed version (that don't own the Crytek engine) and based on a previous version of CryEngine (I believe CE v3)
Saw that they announced PSVR at $399. However, I am still a little fuzzy about what is included with that purchase.
Does it come with a camera? I know it will be able to use your PS controller but, to really get the VR experience will it require a couple of Move sticks?
Not to downplay the PSVR. It looks great. Overall it looks like a good deal. But, if the camera adds another 50 dollars and the sticks add 30 dollars a piece you a starting to get much c...
@glassgannon909 Well, actually Terry Myerson is bigger and above Spencer. He is actively involved with everything Windows (Xbox, Desktop. Mobile, etc..). Myerson may not be part of everyday aspects of Xbox but, in big decisions that means anything hardware & Windows 10 related in direction he is the man that makes the overall decisions. Myerson definitely is very knowledgeable. So yeah if we want to be correct Phil is day to day. Myerson bigger picture guy and boss of all things Wind...
@FlexLuger Maybe not disappear but limit down votes for person to 2 or so a day, no matter how many bubbles you had. If they want to waste their votes on things that they are just voting negatively because they are a fanboy on one side or the other fine. However, I am sure if such a rule was in place and knowing that they are so limited (to just a couple) per day people might start to use use it where it really mattered to them.
I know they are still working hard on it since it went gold. My original Xbox download has been updated twice since I bought it the day the preorder was available. I suspect the PC version, being done by Remedy as well, will be as close as we have seen (fingers crossed) in recent years to a bugless release. I just hope Microsoft has ironed out the Windows store issues by then.
As a beta tester of this product there was a great deal of difference from what people expected from the early produced game trailers and convnetion talk (which got us all excited - as any trailer and PR should) However, the realization after playing the beta (like I did) that it was not working. It is still a very pretty game. But things like matchmaking are slow and uneven. The lack of variety wore out the game quickly. It looks great on paper and pretty on the eyes but, it just did not ...
