Lets be honest here. Kojima clearly is pro-Sony and has PS4 as the lead platform. They won't optimize the PC or Xbox One version.
The only reason Sony even beat the crap of the Xbox One for so many months is Microsoft royally screwed up its launched and had a $500 launch price. Now it is at $349 with two games. Prices below $400 are below the pyschological threshold between thinking about buying and actually being serious about buying. That coupled with in store promotions and the ability to trade in an 360 for $100 credit. Microsoft looks to win December if Amazon and Walmart best sellers are to be trusted.

I know it's the hip thing to do nowadays to bash Windows 8.1 but it is a better OS than Windows 7 which was a great OS for its time.
Windows 8.1 has far lower spec requirements which is one reason it can run on tablets and $200 PCs. It also isn't a resource hog. Plus there are improvements in explorer, task manager, and vastly improved boot times.

It already looks like Xbox will probably win Decemeber based on best sellers from Walmart and Amazon( Xbox is 1, PS4 is 40).. Sony had 11 uncontested months as the lower priced console. MS struck back with the price it should have started at which is $350. I think around the $300+ mark people start to say that the console isn't a bad deal. It also helps MS does true bundles unlike Sony that still charges for the game.

I wonder if the PQ would be the same if the game was rendered at 1920x1080 instead of 1920x800. I know the image is 1080p but the engine is technically only rendering 1920x800 pixels.

Also because PLaystation brand is essentially Sonys last hope of a successful business. They need to push PLaystation everywhere. If Sony goes into making hi tech toasters, damn it they better call it PLaystation Toaster.
They will keep it there. They know Sony at this point cannot afford to match it on price. Sony has recently started doing true bundles with free games but the price is still $399.
I think based on there similar capabilities, $50 price difference is huge. Plus games are bundled with it for free pretty regularly.

I wasn't upset when SF2 turbo went to SNES when I had a Genesis. I just went to my cousins or friends house and played there. We didn't worry about exclusives and stuff. We all knew Gen had certain games like Sonic, Ristar, Dynamite Heady, Streets of Rage while SNES was home to games like Donkey Kong, Megaman X, Battletoads, and Mario.
It wasn't a big deal.

$349 will be the permanent price. Sony can't match it and with the included games it's such an excellent value. Xbox One has been selling extremely well the past few weeks.
I really need another Xbox One....maybe tax time.
Not really interested in a PS4. The Sony exclusives don't do it for me, the Indies are on Steam.
I'd probably get a Wii U for the kids before I got a PS4.
