So if the PS4 is already doing it with a great API and the XB1 is getting close to the performance in certain games using the old bloated API, wouldn't it stand to reason that the XB1 will soon look just as good as PS4 games?

People arguing over a difference of 50K in sales are clueless. The fact that Xbox One sold nearly the same amount speaks volumes to the reality that the USA is split down the middle on Xbox One and PS4. You'd think with all the hype PS4 was getting, all the talk about 1080p the PS4 would be selling consoles 10:1 in the US. Unfortunately the difference in the real world is statistically insignificant.
