Oh how Sony wishes MS would just pack up and leave. Too bad Xbox is one one of their most important brands, Xbox 360 is becoming very profitable, and the X1, which is doing a lot better, is part of MS long term strategy for the living room. Mr. Nadella the New CEO made it clear Xbox isn't going anywhere. And lackluster compared to who? In the major markets X1 is holding it's own. In some places in the US it is beating the PS4 and it has a higher attach rate.
@Tempest
Parts of DX12 will be incorporated before 2015.
Why do Windows and Apple Phones generally run better than most highend Android phones even though those devices hardware is not as powerful?
Answer: It's the software.
You would know this based on what? Your hand in designing the X1?
PS4 is pretty much off the shelf parts.

XBOTTOX there are workstations and very high end rigs with GDDR5. There is nothing with ESRAM.
Why does Xbox One need Mantle if it's getting DX12? Code to the atoms?
PC guys hate paying for anything.
He will get laid off for wasting valuable Sony resources for this. I admit it is amazing though.
Pony logic: layoffs of major development teams and project leads leaving within all small time span = everything is just fine.
If 343 Remedy or Rare etc had major layoffs = MS is in trouble
Maybe it's the lousy gamers who expect free AAA titles every month on PSN.
Bet Insomniac is happy they left.
Reasons:
Sony can't afford to keep them all.
Sony wants wants too much creative control.
Developers got poached.
Games are being given away more than sold.
Yea but only at Sony.
I doubt MS's vision will be that simple.
Will be interesting to see what impacts DX12 will have on its sequel.
This games sequel will look even better, with better tools and DX12.

You speak the truth.
Wonder how this will look if the console keeps selling at $450 at retail. I'm sure MS is monitoring the situation and will probably make $450 the new official price point. Keep Titanfall and Forza in there.
um
MS doesn't need to win Japan, it simply needs to continue to make in roads and show they are committed to the market. By doing this it is possible they can eventually secure stronger support from Japanese developers.
