All Sony needs is a great catalog of games when their system does release and they will be fine. If i have to wait six months to get my hands on a PS4, I will. I am not sure if I will get a 720 unless the online is free.
The PS3 has a 10 YEAR LIFE SPAN. It does not mean that the PS4 wont't come out before the ten year life cycle. The Xbox is also suppose to have a ten year life cycle. What this basically means is that they are going to keep supporting the console after their successors are released into the market until that ten year span is reached. To be honest, as much as I am looking forward to the last of us, I think it is not that much of a step above uncharted 3. I think Beyond is the epitimy of what the ps3 is capable of. I think it can't get any better than both games on the system. God of War asscession is also an honorable mention. I honestly think the PS3 was "maxed out" with metal gear solid 4. That game is still amazing till today.

Its not going to, trust me. I think Sony will be doing a huge disservice to themselves if they do and to. Having the Vita to go by, and with more and more people joining Ps+ through the vita and PS3, and since plus is probably going to be available through all playstation enabled devices come next gen, then I don't see that gamer's should worry about this.
First of all, can we see what Naughty Dog as to offer with the multiplayer before you fools start complaining like you do with everything? My goodness! If the single player delivers and they either decided to add multiplayer or not, then I don't see the problem. If you don't want to play the multiplayer, you don't have to. Also, this is the team that delivered the Uncharted series, giving us some of the best multiplayer experience out there.
I feel like this game isn't getting enough hype. This is both a good thing and somewhat bad thing. However, I am truly excited for this game and getting it day one. We just a single player story video for it and I am set.
I believe that developers just add multiplayer to provide the game with longevity, granted multiplayer portions of certain games aren't compelling enough. As long as developers focus on the single player aspect of a game, then i don't see the problem. First person shooters tend to be the ones to focus primarily on the multiplayer. Uncharted 2 is an example of great multiplayer and amazing single player.
I don't even understand why people talk about linearity all the time. Aren't all games linear? The games that are considered to be non-linear are only possible through illusion. Anyway, I think this game will be amazing, though it is showing the age of the PS3 (I don not mean this in a negative way, just saying that this, God of War, and Beyond is possibly the best we will ever see out of the PS3).
